If you have a windows 7 PC around, compare the start menu with the one in windows 10. I prefer the one in windows 7. Also - Classic shell allows you to change the look of the program that lists files, eg, documents, downloads. Again, I prefer the look in windows 7. Yes - you can put icons in the task bar, but I missed things like "recent items" in my start menu which I use a lot.

It is a great deal. I have a HP laptop I'm using now that's almost 6 years old. I've used it without a problem at all. I've even worn the letters off the keys that's how much it's been used. I never put Windows 10 on it because I've always believed it's better to get a computer already installed with the new operating system on it. I figured if I passed up this fabulous deal my laptop would blow it's lid. lol I had to get this. Too much of a good deal to pass up. Even without the printer included it's a great deal for what you're getting in the laptop.

Yes - but you need 16 gb RAM to get decent performance. 12 gb isn't enough. From a retired software engineer.

I do like HP's altho they are practically impossible to upgrade without taking it to a techie since you have to remove the keyboard. That is why - I recommend getting as much RAM as possible when you initially buy it so that you don't need to upgrade it later. I am typing on an HP Envy with 16 GB RAM, Intel Core i7 processor, 1 Terrabyte hard drive. I also suggest you get a backlit keyboard so you can see it at night. I don't think the PC's on QVC have a backlit keyboard.

A new PC will already have windows 10 - but then I always install a program called Classic shell - which will make your startup menu look like a Windows 7 menu.

Manufacturer's website and Amazon are two of my favorite places to purchase laptops.

Personally, I wouldn't go for this one with only an i3 processor. I notice that they hid that fact down in the small print. i3 is the lowest end of the 'i' franchise of Intel processors.

I have a couple of i5 processor laptops and those are fine. But, wow - I love the i7 and the difference is HUGE.

I just recently (last month) purchased a 15" laptop with current generation i7, all the RAM and HDD I could possibly need, etc for less on Amazon.

Also, keep in mind that if the printer is part of why one would buy this 'deal' you might want to look at what it offers. I only read briefly, but is it even wireless? I never saw that and I haven't watched a presentation since I"m not in the market. Just a thought - it's just another of those 'throw in some more stuff that APPEARS to have value to justify the price'.

ITA about 'Classic Shell'. Do make sure you go to the link Ricki Lynn provided as there are some entities out there that will look much like another one to fool you into - who knows what!

I've been using Classic Shell since Win8.1. It's great.

One thing that is driving me a bit crazy about Windows10 is that every time it has an update it corrupts my 'Secunia PSI' program, so I have to re-install it. Fortunately, that doesn't take long but come on MS! Stop messing up stuff that is on the computer. I also had to find a new way to get my old Solitaire back after that one big 'Anniversary update'.
