topic Printer help needed: HP Photosmart C3180 in Electronics

<P>This little printer has worked like a charm until recently. I've had an issue suddenly arise, upon installing a new color ink cartridge, it has gotten caught in the loop of trying to print the default test page that automatically follows said installation. I can find nowhere that I can "turn off" that function. The paper feeds in just so far and hangs up as it is trying to feed back out and prints only about the first 3-4 inches on the paper. It is not a paper jamb. I've read the manual and followed all the "cleaning" tools provided for it, done the "reset" by unplugging, replugging, etc. all to no avail. I've wasted at a minimum a half ream of paper, not to mention at least a third of a $40 color ink cartridge as well as the black ink cartridge that was installed just a short time previously trying to fix this problem. Does anyone know how to manually clean the scanner or the part(s) that are apparently dirty or clogged? I so hate to just sit an otherwise perfectly good printer on the curb for the trash. I know to take it to a professional will cost me as much or more than purchasing a new printer. Any help will be appreciated. I suspect I'm going to be told I need to just go buy a new printer, but wanted to seek out any experts first.</P>
