Tracfone question: please advise re sim card/contacts

I currently have an LG Tracfone and am thinking of buying the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, $89.00 at HSN.

If I remove the sim card from my current Ultimate 2 phone (LG) and install it in the Samsung will I still have to imput every one of my contacts? That's what I would like to elimiate.

Can you advise me, please. Thank you.

I can't answer your question about the sim card, but I can tell you something that works easily and well to transfer contacts. To transfer contacts between two Tracfone smartphones, use the Mobile Content Transfer Wizard on Google Play. It is for Tracfones and works like a dream. Just download the app on the old and new phone, open on both, follow the onscreen easy, easy prompts, and boom! Done in less than a minute! It will also transfer photos, music, and text messages if you choose those options.

ETA: I just used this app on Monday to transfer contacts and photos from the LG Ultimate 2 (CDMA--Verizon) to the ZTE Zmax 2 (GSM--AT&T), so I know it works wonderfully! And I cannot say enough good things about the ZTE Zmax 2!

My DH & I both just got new tracfones and in both cases as soon as we got the phone started up it transferred all our contacts via the bluetooth function. Easy peasy. As a matter of fact mine transferred all my DH's contacts as well, so I had to go through and erase many that I did not want. We learned our lesson on that and when he set up his new phone I was careful to turn off the bluetooth on mine so the same thing did not happen to him.

edit to add - I had to turn off bluetooth on both my phone and my computer to keep them from transferring to his new phone.

I think there may be a problem.. It is 2 different systems. You can always check with a technician. Do a back up to save the important information. Let me know how it works out.

Bigsister, I think you meant maybe micro SD card and not the sim card? Your Ultimate 2 shouldn't have a sim slot since it's only 3G I believe. Anyhow, I would recommend when you get your new phone, just set it up with your gmail account (the first thing an android phone asks you to do) and your contacts should sync to your new phone.

I think contacts will sync only if contacts have been backed up to gmail.
