thanks to all the help here, (and some from a call to tracfone)got it set up..

Very excited to be in the "android phone" world after antique blackberry..

Question: Do you use a screen protector? Looks like the screen could easily get scratched in my purse, the case is only on the back..my Ipad has a case that goes onver the screen while in my purse...

What kind of screen protector do you have? do you like it?are they hard to install?

For accessories on eBay or Amazon, search LG K7. And imo, one of the best screen protectors are the illumishield brand found on Amazon.

Because the screen is curved, the protectors (any brand, I think) will not go all the way to the outer edges.

I just bought a tempered glass screen protector. I had it put on (free) at the store where I bought it. I don't think I could ever get a screen protector put on myself without getting bubbles in it.

Landline use - Voicemail telephone number for your Tracfone Treasure; go to Settings, go to Call, scroll all the way down to "Additional Settings" (Set call forwarding and call waiting) it will "Reading Settings" select "Call Forwarding" and it will show the the voicemail telephone number when Busy, Unanswered and Unreachable. This will save your minutes by calling from a landline, found it by accident or you can use the dial number "1" option.

Hello Mothertrucker, mine is due to be delivered on Mon. My last phone I purchased from Q 3 years ago, never had a problem with it. My son and daughter in law said it was time for me to upgrade, however the prices of new phones are rediculous. I saw this one being presented so I decided to get it. I have never had a tracfone so this is a whole new experience for me. I am sure any questions I have are addressed in the forums. So glad you got yours and was able to set it up.

@sunshine 919 i can relate to your story- My son called me Mothers Day morning and this was on my TV as we were talking, and the more I saw, the more liked it..i was worried, cause I had recently purchased a one year card...wanted to make sure I wouldnt lose it (I didnt)

My son and DIL and SO have been on me for YEARS to get with the 21st Century..(actually, my son said if i could just make it to the 20th century that would be OK, LOL!)My son offers me every IPhone he retires, but I am happy with TracFone..

So this seemed to fit the bill..

For someone who has never used an Android, and who is a total Mac-o Phile, the learning curve is dfinitley steep- Thank you so much @Ainhisg for the awesome tutorial..HUGE help!

i got everything transfered from my old tracfone ok, but now, i can't set up the pandora app for use. i put in the app but when i try to log on, it keeps saying tech issues. has anyone been able to set theirs up? i'll check with my techie kids, too.

that's the card i was trying to use. when i would log into pandora, it would say something like "we're having tech problems". i got it to work for about 2 minutes, yesterday and then the message came on.

did you have sucess, with it? i will try again, just lost my patience.

Have had my new Treasure up and making calls for several days now....didn't notice no text messages until today when it showed 8 messages but it didn't show the message..a little box to download???? Went to TF CS chat and was waiting....looked at settings....Data button was in the "off" position...duh....turned it to "on" and bam.....messages. Really feel like a duence .... quickly disconnected TF chat before they could answer!

Got my LG Treasure activated/minutes from previous Tracfone rolled over this morning. I haven't set up the Elite Service yet. Tracfone did confirm within the past several days that Tracfone does not support WiFi calling. That is a shocker since Android Tracfones on several shopping networks advertise WiFi calling and not have to use Tracfone minutes.

Data has to be on to receive picture or group messages called MMS (multimedia messaging service). After downloading the photos or group messages, make sure to turn your data back off to save data.

I believe the Tracfone reps and shopping channel hosts are saying that you use wi-fi to save data not minutes (two different things). You can call using wi-fi if you download a phone app that offers that feature.

@BHawk, were the messages you got photos and/or group messages? Data has to be on to receive them. But if you leave your data on all the time, background apps will use it, and it will drain pretty quickly. You only need to turn data on when you get a message that says download, because it will be a photo or group message.

Regular text messages will come through without data or wi-fi. Text messages are SSM, which work independent of data or wi-fi.

Swipe down from the top, and you'll see a row of choices. Swipe from right to left on that row, and you should see data.
