Well that's disappointing. It's still 300ppi like the current Voyage and Paperwhite. I read in landscape so the new design isn't at all helpful for me. In fact it seems like it would be harder to read in landscape since the bezel is so small on the top and bottom. Not happy with the price either. I guess I'm sticking with my Paperwhite.

Kindle is introducing the new Kindle Oasis for $289.99. It's much thinner and lighter than the last Kindle. It's available for pre-order now. You can read about it on Amazon. It sounds wonderful except for the price.

I have a Paperwhite and a Voyage and love them both. If you use the Kindle App and always leave the wi-fi active on your Kindle ereader, the App and ereader wirelessly sync your content. That means that you can read your book on your phone, then go get your ereader later and it will say something like, "This device is on page 122 from 8:32pm on April 10. The furthest read page in this book is page 253 on (Name of iPhone) at 12:17pm on April 13. Do you want to go to that page?"

So no matter where you are, you can always read the same book and always be where you left off without having to try and figure it out. Having multiple apps and Kindles, that's one of my favorite things.

I keep watching Amazon as to their readers - and then I realize I just don't need to pull the trigger yet. I do readline on my Kindle Fire, although I've promised myself that when that dies, I'll get an actual reader. I didn't know until I actually had the Fire how little I would use any of the features beyond reading. Now I know.

I'm thinking, though, that $300 for a reader also makes sense for me, but there could be a Paperwhite in my future. I hope never to give up the public library, but I do like being able to download from their collection as well as picking out books from the shelves --and I used to think I'd never do that!
