Should I get a new computer with Windows 7??

I've read and heard so many bad things about Windows 10. A lot of professional offices still use Windows 7. Just curious what you think.

I hated Windows 8.1. I'm mostly satisfied with Windows 10 laptop.

Truth be told is that I'd take good ole Windows XP but it's not supported anymore.

If you like Windows 7 because it's what you work with I think Microsoft is supporting it and you could get a computer loaded with that system.

I personally would never buy anything but the latest available. I would get Windows 10. I had a friend that got a new computer last year with it, and she loves it. She didn't at first. It took her a while to get used to it, but now she really likes it.

any new computer you buy will have windows 10 got a new one for christmas & it's 10 not bad they have apps I don't understand it but don't use it but really windows 10 seems no different.it runs a little faster but if you have apps you can apply them. I don't. I don't see anything new or a big deal.

No way would I deliberately buy a computer with obsolete technology. They become obsolete fast enough as it is. You'll adjust to the new operating system in short order.

I'd buy one with windows 8 which is what I did last spring when I bought a new Acer. The one I had with 7 died on me. I've not however installed windows 10 yet. I think it's still too new.

It probably will be difficult to find a computer to buy with Win 7. If you do find one, the price should be heavily discounted. Be aware that Microsoft's extended support for Win 7 ends Jan 2020.

BTW, I love Win 8.1. Have not used Win 10.

I read nothing but good things about Windows 10 before I upgraded from 8.1. I've had it since August, and haven't been disappointed. A Windows 7 computer isn't new, it's three steps behind.

Some Windows 7 computers aren't compatible with Windows 10, which is why some businesses might not be upgrading. New computers aren't in their budget.

My Windows 7 laptop is aging rapidly. I've already decided it's not worth paying a tech to repair or upgrade when it's functioning finally gets me to shopping. That shopping will take me to 10 for sure.

It seems to me that quite a few of the complaints about 10 have faded now that we have lots of user feedback instead of just a little. Anyone else notice that?

I would not buy yesterday's technology today. Windows 10 is not that difficult to navigate. I bought a new computer in December and I have had no problem figuring it out and I am not some 20 year old. I am 60.

Let me add to what the others have said. I would not buy a new computer with Windows 7 (if you can even find one). Don't let the hype scare you. It did take me a while to get used to Windows 10, but I did conquer it.

You will be fine. Just be patient with the learning curve.

Many buy older pc"s because it comes with MS Office installed

Todays PC.s are so cheap

I would want to stay current because of possible virus support

The reason businesses don't upgrade to the latest and greatest is because it's expensive and they usually wait until all the kinks are out of the new ones.

I would buy a new computer with Windows 10. I have Win 7 Ultimate on my desktop and Win10 on my laptop and I do not have any problem. It's different, just like my computer and tablet are different but they all do the same thing. You do not have to use the touch screen for everything.

I think the people having problems with Win 10 are the ones who tried to upgrade and had conflicting programs on their computer already. Some people will download several virus programs and firewalls because that do not understand what they do.

I find Windows 10 to be just a combination of 7 AND 8.

I honestly do not bother with the apps. I just use IE 11, and not the built in IE Edge.

Edge felt more like a data mining browser. It is OK, but I felt like Microsoft was a background eyeball, taking note of my every click. I do not do anything bad at all on my computer, it was just that my amount of spam increased, hence my email was being sold.

If you use IE11, it works just like Windows 7. There are a 'few' things that take a bit of a learning curve (pictures, for one). But for the everyday surfing around that most people do, I find Windows 10 fine.

I wish Firefox browser would become compatible, but I do not see that happening any time soon. Microsoft is squishing out companies they are not holding hands with, or do not own themselves.

I just recently figured out how to make Google my default search. Win 10 was forcing me to Bing. I do not like Bing. Found a techie message board and of course, all the computer literate's had already figured out how to get rid of Bing. It was simple, now I am happy.

I still miss Firefox, but whatever.

I would never buy a new computer with old software. That being said I have brought a new HP laptop with windows 10 and I like it very much. Microsoft is not going to support these older programs much longer. So no I would not recommend you spend the money for a new computer with older software.

I use Firefox version 43 just fine on my Windows 10 laptop.

In fact I use it on just about all my devices although I find it doesn't work that well on my Android-based tablet.

I still use - and love - Windows 7, so I would not change to 10 until the kinks are worked out.

This often happens with new versions of things.

The 'highest' I would consider is 8.1, but I'd rather have my Windows 7 if possible.
