Gem Lover, I thought I'd suggest some apps to you that I enjoy. As I've mentioned to you before, if you download an app and don't like it or get tired of it, it's very simple to delete it. Don't ever delete the things that came loaded from the factory though. Always leave those on your iPad.

ABC Player- free app- allows you to watch ABC tv shows you might have missed or would like to see again.

CNN- free app

USA Today- free app

Angry Birds- Angry Birds Rio- Angry Birds Space- Angry Birds Seasonal- SO much fun. These are paid apps/games. One time cost for each and then all updates and new screens come to you for free.

Words with Friends- terrific game- I play all the time. Spring for the paid version so you don't have to look at ads.

The Weather Channel- Free app

Facebook (if you're interested)- free app

Weatherbug- free app- this is my favorite weather app

ABC News- free app

WTD (What's the Difference)- fun game- you look for the differences between two pictures

NBC- free app

ScoTutor for iPad- this is free for right now. It takes awhile to download this app, but is a really good iPad tutorial. And you don't have to watch it all in one sitting. If you back out of the app and then go back in, it picks up where it let off.

Flixter- free app- gives movie information

AppsGoneFree- gives you a list every day of apps that are temporarily free.

Google Earth- free app

WunderRadio- lets you listen to any radio station on the planet

CNBC (if you're into watching the stock market and stuff)

Scrabble- Like Words with friends but you play against the computer

TMZ- free -if you like celeb news

US- same as TMZ

Logos Quiz- pretty fun game on trying to identify logos from different companies.

I'm a weather geek so I also like- Hurricane HD, WunderMap, Hi-Def Radar and MyRadar.

And finally, I don't know if you live in an area of the country that's prone to hurricanes, tornadoes, etc, but I LOVE iMap Weather Radio. This one costs $9.99 but I got it during a free period. You input your zip code or city and if there are weather warnings in your area, it will put a message up on the iPad screen. It also ties to a local tv station and you can actually watching live streaming TV on the iPad during the warning. We had a tornado hit a few miles from us early this year and while we were in our unfinished basement, we watched the local ABC station's coverage on my phone. This is an iPhone app and works perfectly fine on the iPad- it's just smaller.
