I have the Tracfone LG Ultimate 2 and I can voice text with it. It's different for each phone, so it's only a matter of checking the instructions. I would think you could google the information for a specific phone make and model.

I just posted about my daughters only using TEXT AND NOT EMAIL to communicate with the world.

My next question. My daughter has a Samsung phone (Android) with Verizon. I have Sprint.. I have a more expensive phone but one year older. She can text or call OR SHE CAN TEXT WITH VOICE.

Is that a function of all smart phones to add voice? I cannot find the option on mine. The phone actually talks the text. We both have Samsung and both have Android.

My sister has a Samsung from version and doesn't have the option. I don't know how old her phone is, but my guess is two years. I have a tracfone and have that option. I don't know how to turn it on, but every once and a while I click something that turns it on. LOL

You should go to a Sprint store and ask about Voice Text feature in your phone.

https://community.sprint.com/baw/welcome

I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and mine does. Open a text message like you are going to type one. Look at your keyboard. Is there a small microphone on one of the keys? Depends on which keyboard you use, but mine is a little microphone on the same key as my comma (,). If it's there, hold that key for a second and you should be able to speak your message and then send. When I do that, I get a google screen that says "speak now."

I got the NOTE 4 and have gadget envy. I cannot believe my daughter has a 'lesser' phone and can do it. It actually has three choices... in the contacts section.... phone, text and voice. I got to get to the bottom of this. Thanks everyone.

I think this might be more about the Android version than the provider. My Tracfone, Samsung, has the Voice to Text feature, but not a Text to Voice feature. It has the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 on it. My Samsung TV has Voice Commands that can do about all the TV functions. Can use Voice to Text for about everything. If it has Text to Voice, I have not found it.

My wife has a Samsung S5 with the latest Android Lollipop 5.0 version. She is on a pet sitting job now, but when she comes home I'll check her phone and see if it has Text to Voice. I have never seen or used that feature. She is uses the monthly Sprint Plan.

hckynut(john)

There're a couple ways to use voice-to-text:

1. go to Google app (it has a colorful G) and set it up (if you haven't already). You need data/wifi to use this. There are "cards" (commands).

2. or open your message to text and use the microphone icon on your keyboard.

I'm not sure because I have Moto X and on my Moto X it'll just respond even from a lockscreen without pressing anything to "Ok Moto X" but I believe that is now one of Lollipop features "Ok Google Now".
