Artificial intelligence seems to be way overrated these days. We keep hearing how half of all jobs will be done by AI in the years to come, but they still can't design a grammar checker that works most of the time. I was using a phone system that made you talk to it a couple of days ago and had a lot of problems. The stupid thing couldn't understand anything. The problem was that they were trying to make the technology do more than it was able to do. They had not designed the system to work within its limitations. I finally started yelling into the phone and ended up being transferred to one of these humans who supposedly are going to be replaced by robots soon.

Did you do the voice training for Alexa? It really does help. What is being asked? How old is your son? Is the problem with both of you or just one person?

I love my Echo. I also highly recommend the voice training. It's solved most of the issues I ever had with Echo. On the Alexa app you can see what Echo is hearing. If she's hearing what you're saying but can't answer, you'll see it there. If she's hearing something different then you can see what she's hearing. Regional accents can confuse any device, and people for that matter, but with the voice training Echo can learn an accent and adjust.

Please give the Echo a try. I love mine. I actually use mine for production more than fun.

I constantly use for timers, alarms, making lists and check spelling. I do check the weather daily also.

I do agree that you need to do the voice training.
