Being Bombarded With Japanese Spam

At my hotmail account. I use that one just for certain things like on-line shopping. Everyday for the past month or more it seems I have at least 10 or more in my spam folder all in Japanese and I wonder why and how that's happening. They all come from different e-mail addresses. Just saying because it's weird and wondering if anyone else is getting them?

No, I am not getting Japanese ones, but ones which claim to be Russian ones. I get a bunch of these. Very irritating. Don't know why -- where they come from or how. I feel your pain!!!

If you haven't already done this, I would try resetting your password to a new one for your e-mail account, and see if that helps you.

ok, I have a gmail account I use for the Q and other online shopping. I recently started getting spam for russian brides, asian girlfriends, viagra, gift cards, you name it. I have never had that problem before, so this has to be related to online shopping somewhere.

And some of them use my name! My name is not in my email address!

I think it's the worst with the free-type email addresses. But it's also really bad with paid ISP email addresses, too.

What upsets me about this is that I truly believe the ISPs could do something about this. I almost feel like they sell out our information to these spammers.

I'm not getting anything like mentioned in this thread (fingers crossed), but I get my fair share of spam, using paid ISP email addresses and it's just as wrong, if not more so, than the flash banner ad qrap they allow on their pages. I could see the flash banner ad junk if it were free but we pay.

Anyway, I think the only thing anybody can do is to never EVER open them or click on anything. If you have a 'spam folder' option with your email address just designate them as spam and, hopefully, they start automatically going into your spam folder.
