Question Kindle Fire 7" from Amazon

My husband purchased the above for me but I think it is the wrong item for my needs.

All I want to do is read books on this and while it all works perfectly I cannot change the font size on the pages of the book I wish to read.

Have gone into settings then display for books and there are three sizes under font - tried all of them - while they change the font size of the display items the text size on pages of book I am reading stay the same.

I now think this is how it is and will return it as I need larger font size - any ideas please? I think he has purchased the wrong item. Thank you.

I have a different Kindle Fire, but I imagine it's very similar.

Open the book you want to read.

Tap the top of the page to make the menu appear.

You should see an Aa icon at the top of the page

Tap the Aa icon

You should see Text Size and buttons with a + and - symbol on them.

Tap the + button to increase font size.

You can repeat this in any book you open.

Thanks for replies - ChynnaBlue DH has same one as you but way you describe font change on yours does not happen on one he just purchased. I think as one poster said it is not an e reader he purchased wrong thing. Back it goes. Thank you all.

YES, you can change the font. Don't send it back. It is an e-reader and a tablet and you can change the font in the book.

Try opening the book. Touch the top of the page and you will see settings. Then you change the font size by entering a bigger number. Mine says 7 right now. I just did it on my Kindle HD.

It might not be exact directions if you have a different one, but you can do it. If you can't figure it out, call Amazon and ask them.

Hope you figured it out . You can change the font. Because it's a product by Amazon, it is geared for the Kindle and e-books. Each Kindle Fire model is different, but they will work. It's just a matter of how.

There's a lot of documentation, etc. to help you.

It's much better than an e-reader.

You can't do that within a book on my Kindle HD. I think this works when you are online and in Facebook, etc. but not in a book.

You can change the font. contact Amazon Kindle they can instruct you and you might have even gotten a Help that you just tap on. Really try to get your cust.service to help you out they can walk you thru it for your type of Kindle.

Yes, the Amazon website has an entire section on reading books and magazines on the Fire HD 7" sales page. And it should definitely allow for font changes as a part of accessibility laws, I believe.

I agree with @Roxie Pokie, I would contact customer service before I sent it back. A tech support person should be able to help.

It's too bad Amazon hasn't put the Mayday button on all the Kindle Fire tablets.

You might call them and ask them if you can get that price since it hasn't been 30 days. It wouldn't hurt to ask.

Late Wednesday night (11/25) I ordered the Amazon Kindle Fire 7" for $49.99. When I saw Thursday morning (11/26) that it was reduced to $34.99, I immediately opened a chat session and asked for the price difference since it hadn't even been 24 hours since I ordered at the higher price. I was given the $15 back in credit as "good will credit" and was very happy. Of course, with the list our college grad daughter has given me of items wanted on Amazon, that $15 will be spent again quickly!
