QVC Selling The Amazon Echo

I noticed today QVC now has the Echo available for purchase for $180. I got mine back in February for a prime membership price. I wonder if it will now become available at Best Buy and Target?

The QVC offer comes with the voice remote. The Amazon direct purchase you have to pay an extra $30 dollars.

I didn't know there was a voice remote, although I did get a remote but never use it. I'm glad I only paid $99 for mine, I wouldn't pay $180 for it. Alexa disappoints me a lot often she doesn't understand what I asked or doesn't know the answer. I find Siri more reliable.

I LOVE my Alexa. I got one for $99, but I paid regular price for a 2nd one. I wanted one at my work. I use her constantly. My uses are: Alarm (to get up), timers for various things, check the time and weather, but especially adding things to my grocery list. The last is my favorite feature.

I rarely use her for music. But it is there if I need it.

Oh and occasionally I use her to check correct spelling.

Edit: I wanted to add that I don't use my remote at home at all but I do at work. If the timer is going off and I want to shut it off, I hit the stop on the remote. It is embarrassing to say "Alexa stop" if I have a customer. LOL

OK, so the deciding point on where to buy Echo is the remote. Some people will want/use it & others will not.

In the Echo app itself there is a place to voice train. I think that helps a lot because if others use it she doesn't understand them sometimes. If I repeat it she understands.

I got the remote with my prime membership purchase in the spring. We love it. At that price it was worth it just for the speaker which we think sounds great.

It doesn't search the web like Siri does but Siri doesn't work very well for me. Alexa works great and yes, I did take the time to train her. But she seems to work well for anyone who visits us.

I look forward to new features they add to her!

Thank you for the link. Well, Amazon is not for me as I do not shop online unless the vendors have a toll free # for sales. Looks to me like you can only purchase items on Amazon online only. I don't give out my cc info over no comp. I guess you can call me cyber parinoid.

We all have to feel comfortable using the Internet. You could use a gift card on Amazon instead of a CC. The CS at Amazon is just so good.
