      <description>&lt;P&gt;This happened in our area several weeks ago.&amp;nbsp; We did not have television for many hours.&amp;nbsp; I called Comcast and was told it was needed to improve the Hi-Def visual aspect.&amp;nbsp; I have noticed a better/more realistic picture coloration&amp;nbsp;and overall finer image since the upgrade.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I did not get the notice but I can tell you I am very dissatisfied with Comcast.&amp;nbsp; The problem is they are our only choice.&amp;nbsp; I would love to change to Verizon Fios but they don't have&amp;nbsp;fiber optics&amp;nbsp;in our area.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;My main complaint is pricing.&amp;nbsp; I want basic cable because we don't need preimum channels but since we have two HD televisions I want HD cable.&amp;nbsp; Well, you can't get HD cable unless you also get all the premium channels.&amp;nbsp; And, the price keeps going up.&amp;nbsp; It is such a rip off.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;If you are going to get better service does that mean your price will go up?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

But within the last month or so, we got new TVs and so I switched out for new boxes and then....got my first bill which was almost $50 less a month than before with the old boxes. I switched out the main box in the house and then 2 of the bedroom boxes for new. Got my last bill that was the same--$50 less. We have the basic package that now includes the HD stations so have more channels too. Am holding my breath however; you never know with Comcast.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>It's a bit of a pain, but if you can remember to call periodically you can get more for less with Comcast. And as far as premium channels, they often run special pricing to get you hooked. You can jump from one to another and back to the one you had for a discounted price. It's too much trouble for me, but lots of people do it.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;We just upgraded our whole setup. &amp;nbsp;The DVRs we had from them were 13 years old. &amp;nbsp;We went to the x1 platform, with the dvr and mini companion boxes that can be hidden anywhere. We also upgraded to their wireless gateway with dual band wifi 2.4 and 5ghz and wirelss n/ac and over 100mbps download. &amp;nbsp;Bill went from 279 dollars all the way down to 159.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I don't have Comcast, but it sounds like maybe they are just going all digital or something.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My cable co, Charter, did this a couple of years ago. &amp;nbsp;They went to all digital so you needed to have a box on any tv with which you hope to have reception. &amp;nbsp;I didn't have boxes on my little 19" TVs that I have in my kitchen and on my desk. &amp;nbsp;So I had to get boxes for them.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The good part of this was that they went all HD so you no longer had to pay extra to have HD service. &amp;nbsp; OF course, if you have older TVs that don't have HDMI ports, you can still use the cable boxes with the red/white/yellow a/c cables and not have HD. But if you have HDTVs, you can just snag a nice HDMI cable for $5 or less and use that. &amp;nbsp;I already had HD on two of my TVs because I have Tivos and the cableCARDs that replace cable boxes with the newer Tivos automatically give you HD.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But they used to charge extra for HD, so this has been good. &amp;nbsp;The other good thing is that cable boxes are a lot smaller now. &amp;nbsp;I was rather resistant at first because I just had my little kitchen and desk TVs with basic cable, from the wall, and didn't want to have to store some big ol' cable box. &amp;nbsp;These little cable boxes are a lot nicer than some big thing for which you used to have a whole shelf! &amp;nbsp;&lt;img id="smileyhappy" class="emoticon emoticon-smileyhappy" src="https://community.qvc.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.png" alt="Smiley Happy" title="Smiley Happy" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
