Are you trying to install something? a program, for instance. My Norton virus/internet protection asks me this when I am trying to install a program.

wait for dooBdoo or one of the tekkies... this may be windows asking you if it is OK to make changes to your computer... this might be a necessary change that you DO want...

Sorry I couldn't be of more help... if it is a Windows/Microsoft message, it sounds legit. But since you have never gotten this message before, it could be a virus that you don't want to respond to.

I entered the words from your message

Program Name Microsoft Windows

Verified Publisher Microsoft Corp

File Origin Hard Drive on this computer

and some interesting information came up from others that had gotten the same msg.

It is possibly an update that has downloaded, but there should be more information. The safest rule of thumb is if you didn't initiate it, don't click it. You can run your anti-virus with a full scan and see if it finds anything.

The next time it pops up click on show details and it will give you the location of the file. That tells a lot.

It looks like it's an update from Microsoft. If you have auto updates turned on, then your computer is downloading and installing updates without you doing anything. how long have you had the computer? I ask because if you had auto updates on for a long time without knowing, why this one update all of a sudden is asking your permission? Is there any other information listed on the pop up...I'd be curious to know more before saying you are safe to click on it.

Thank you all so much for your help. I did keep having an enable cookies come up. The pop up would not let me click no, if I did it just came back so I clicked yes and everything seems ok.

Again my thanks for all your responses.
