topic Audiobooks from iTunes in Electronics

I'm happy to report I was able to download my lost audiobook after it was made downloadable again by Apple support. Unlike other purchases you get through iTunes, audiobooks are a one time download. The e-mail said I could synch with my iPad and get it on the device but decided not to try it since that's how it disappeared in the first place.

I had downloaded it on my laptop by mistake. I was using it when I read the e-mail and didn't know the link was set up for auto download. I was able to find the files on the hard drive, copy them to a flash drive and it's now on my desktop where I have better speakers.

Most of the problems I was having with my iPad have been resolved. I need to sit down and restore it. I really think the slowness will not be resolved with the reset but I'm willing to try. I don't use my iPad enough to buy the latest version like my sister did. She was having the same problems as me (slow or freezing), had the same model, uses her's for everything and was so disgusted with the performance after upgrading to IOS 8.1, she bought a new one.

I give Apple support 5 stars and is one reason I'm glad I switched to Apple devices.

I'm sorry you had that problem like that. Do you have itunes on your desktop? Before I got an ipad mini that how I downloaded audio books from itunes when they are on sale. The books I buy show under audio books. and I still download to the computer even with having the ipad. I borrow a lot of audio books from the library I download them onto the computer (first to overdrive) then transfer
to itunes they show under music though not books and then I sync them to the ipad (showing on the ipad under music also) and they stay on the ipad until I delete them. And I did have to google how to sync the books to the ipad thru itunes.

This particular audiobook got deleted when I checked audiobook through iTunes and did a sync. I'm not going to try and sync it again until I'm done listening to it.

All you need to do is change the TYPE in iTunes. Think of everything listed in your items account on your computer like an excel sheet. You can click on any one thing and edit the information for each column. Changing the type column from a music file to an audiobook file will make it show in the right app. It's showing in music now because iTunes has it listed as a music file and that's what it thinks it is.

I've never downloaded books from the library, so don't have any experience to know what those files are coded with. But for sure, if you download from iTunes, or purchase a downloaded book elsewhere that can be found in your iTunes, this process will work. If ever you get a chance to try it I hope you'll come back and tell us how it went.

I'm happy that Apple resolved your issue--they really do have good CS. But, I still don't like iTunes for audiobooks. If I'm going to purchase I alway use Audible. They are owned by Amazon so I can use the same log on and cc info, can download using their very good app on to my devices, they will store my purchases in their cloud and I can synch across devices.

I also enjoy getting audiobooks from my library either through Overdrive or Hoopla Digital. One Click Digital is good but my library dropped them. I'm a huge library fan and get most of my reading/listening media via the library.
