      <description>&lt;P&gt;Best Buy's before-Black-Friday sale included $100 off all iPad Air 2 models. I had insomnia last night (go figure) and at 2 a.m. they were not even being sold yet. At 5 a.m. they were sold out, except for the unpopular configurations, and even 90% of those are gone too. I had read that they were sending special emails to the high end Rewards Club members who spend thousands per year with them to jump the line. Must have been true. I'm just angry at myself for being gullible enough to have believed it might be possible for an average consumer to take advantage. Now I see that was never the intention from the start, it was just a publicity gimmick. News flash to BB - it won't be getting me in the store to buy "something else" or buy it from you at full price. Fool me once....&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Yea, I hate that kind of stuff. Best Buy isn't the only one who does that. Don't they call these things teaser sales...it's something to get you in the store, but they make less than half of the stock they have availanle for purchase, and in reality very few actually get the advertised price. I'll bet most of the people online grabbing those that were availanle up were sitting there hitting the refresh button for the exact moment they were made available. These people will probably turn around and resell them online and charge full price plus shipping charges. meanwhile people like you who need it for a gift, or even for yourself at an affordable price, it's gone.</description>

      <description>It may be small consolation, but you are better off not getting it at best Buy! I never shop there anymore after a nightmare with a laptop I foolishly bought there for my daughter....several others I know have had similar problems.....zero customer service.....much smarter to buy it directly from Apple.....if you did have a problem with it, which you probably won't, they are great to help you with whatever questions or issues you might have.</description>

One encouraged me to go ahead and log in last Sunday night so that I could speed up the ordering process on Monday morning.  We made a few high end purchases last spring for birthday and graduation presents, so I guess that's how we got on the list. &lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;The local BB is swamped this time of year.  Last year I made some purchases and realized when I got home that one of the items wasn't in my bag even though I had paid for it.  The customer service is hit or miss.  Sometimes we get great service and sometimes they're practically clueless. &lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Moonchilde, it's early in the season, so keep watching the ads from various stores.  I wouldn't be surprised if you found something comparable (or even a better deal) in the upcoming weeks.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt; &lt;/P&gt;</description>

But $100 is $100 and it would have paid my sales tax or Apple Care, so I really wanted to go for it. I have a new case on order :-( And of course I want the most popular model - 64GB cellular. Hopefully I can buy this weekend and it isn't sold out at my 2 local Apple stores. I have to work tomorrow, so can't buy :-( Well, I will survive, but I'm just really annoyed. You may have to take it to the store so they can see the condition of it first, but I kmow for sure you can buy Apple care as a separate purchase. And...I think you have a year, from date of purchase, to buy it.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I decided I wanted to buy the iPad mini 2 (I know it isn't the newest but I'm not a heavy iPad user) and I was checking all the ads for it at the various stores yesterday.  I happened to be at Target and asked the clerk there what deal they would have on Thanksgiving/Black Friday for the iPad mini 2.  After I finished speaking to the clerk and was about to leave the store a young couple overheard our conversation and told me that Best Buy had the iPad mini 2 on sale for $75 off.  I know it isn't the same as the Target deal which would have been full price with a $100 gift card but I also didn't want to have to fight the crowds on Thanksgiving at 6 p.m. and hope to get one.  So yesterday I hurried over to Best Buy and asked if the iPad mini 2 was on sale and the BB clerk said one minute let me look it up (which seemed strange that he didn't really know since the iPads are so popular).  Long story short I purchased the iPad mini 2 for $75 off at Best Buy yesterday.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

We made a few high end purchases last spring for birthday and graduation presents, so I guess that's how we got on the list.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;The local BB is swamped this time of year. Last year I made some purchases and realized when I got home that one of the items wasn't in my bag even though I had paid for it. The customer service is hit or miss. Sometimes we get great service and sometimes they're practically clueless.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Moonchilde, it's early in the season, so keep watching the ads from various stores. I wouldn't be surprised if you found something comparable (or even a better deal) in the upcoming weeks.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;/BLOCKQUOTE&gt; &lt;P&gt;No one has ever offered that deep a cash discount. It's unheard of. That's why I wanted to go for it. I seriously doubt there will be anything close to that offered. I checked Walmart and Target, both offering gift cards with the purchase, but they don't sell Apple Care and you can't use the GC for sales tax, so of limited use for me.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;I suspect what happened is that the people who got the advance emails bought what few were ever available before the "sale" even started online.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;/BLOCKQUOTE&gt; You can buy apple care directly from apple after you purchase equipment from somewhere else. You may have to take it to the store so they can see the condition of it first, but I kmow for sure you can buy Apple care as a separate purchase.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Retail is retail...  The sooner we all stop falling for the hype, especially the holiday and Black Friday hype, the better off we'll be...  Whatever we're seeking WILL be on sale somewhere at some point either before or after this fiasco of a weekend and it probably makes the most sense to simply relax and enjoy for now, and shop early in future years,  or later next week this year...  Sorry for the frustration, but you know, it is what it is...
