Did anyone recieve their new 8.9" Kindle HDX yet? Delivered Oct. 21?

I was so mad at myself that I didn't preorder earlier so I could get it Oct. 21. My ship date was Nov. 14th. Well low and behold, I got a text this morning that it is going to be delivered today! I can't wait.

Just wondered what you thought of it? I'll report back when I get mine!!!

I think I'll go see if there are any reviews on it yet.

I think this tablet has been out on Amazon for over a year. What was QVC offering? Is it a new model? Or did they offer some accessories?

No it is the brand new one from Amazon, not from QVC. It was being released/delivered Oct. 21, 2014. I figured some people have gotten theirs already.

What is new about it? Are they still making the HD versions? I am very confused about the product line. I have a small HDX I got on black Friday last year.

Well, I checked out some of the reviews. A lot of them are from people reviewing last years model and a lot of them are from non-purchasers. So the ratings are unfair, as usual. Here is the one I'm talking about just released.

I have last year's 8.1 (love love). This new version is 4x faster, a bit thinner and has an integrated Bluetooth keyboard available.

There is a new 2014 model 8.9"" HDX. It was released two days ago. I'm getting mine today.

And yes they still have the HD versions also.

I wish they would have named this new model (8.9 HDX) a different name. People are reviewing last years model on the one that was just released two days ago.

They have last years 8.9 HDX on sale for $30 off. So people are buying that one and putting the reviews on the new model.

I agree it is confusing!

Sorry, I misread the OP and my original statements were incorrect. QVC offered the older HDX at the smaller 7" size, not the 8.9.

Yes, they are still making the Fire HD and the HDX.

Well, I did get mine yesterday. It is beautiful. It is awesome. BUT there is one glitch. I can't get Words With Friends to work. I had Mayday on my 7" HDX for a year and never used it. Today is the day to try it out on my new 8.9 HDX if I can't get it to work. I'm waiting for it to update (again) since I keep taking it off and putting it back on thinking that will help.

I'll let you know how Mayday goes.

She didn't speak very good english to start.

The first thing she told me to do was to restart my Kindle. I told her if I did she would be gone, and she said "I said restart the kindle" so I did. And she was gone! LOL Duh!!!

I will just call next time. I was going to do it this morning but I left in a hurry and forgot it! I'll have to wait until tonight now.

That app works on my other Kindle and on my phone, so I don't know what to do to fix it.

Beautiful device. Love it EXCEPT I can't play Words With Friends on it. I called Amazon. They connected me to their app dept. We went through everything and even though it is suppose to be compatible, they said it was defective. They are going to turn it over to the app specialist and they are suppose to contact me when they figure out a fix.

At this point the device should be a 5 star and it isn't really the device's problem the app doesn't work. But I love WWF and it might be a deal breaker if they can't get it fixed. I'll give them the 30 days to fix it. I know this is silly, but my favorite thing is WWF.

If anyone has this newest Kindle HDX in the 8.9", can you play WWF?

BTW, it works fine on my year old 7" HDX.
