I got an email for a 16GB iPad for an upcoming TSV. I'm sure this is not the new one that is coming out. I don't even think it's the iPad Air. This is alright if you don't mind not having the latest one but I hope some people don't get taken in thinking it is the latest one available.

If it's not an air, or air 2, then it is not the latest technology. I am sure they will offer a bunch of junk to go along with it that is not needed, and throw in that "lifetime tech support" junk too. I hope people will go to Apple website to look at prices and research different versions iPad 1,2,3,4 (4 is technically called iPad with retina display) air, and air 2).

It's two generations old -- first released in November 2012.

Available at WalMart for $299.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/22081423

Besides the fact that any iPad sold on QVC is practically guaranteed to be old technology, 16GB is almost uselessly low storage, not to mention pretty impossible/difficult to upgrade OS due to the storage. You can't do anything with that. As far as Easy Pay, not only does Apple offer payments through a credit card (which I have used to buy an iPad 3 and a full-priced iPhone 5S), it is interest-free if paid off within 12 months, and free shipping. Other places that sell iPads (Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc.) also have cards and payment plans. That said, not everyone who might use Easy Pay would qualify for traditional credit - the elderly, for example - so I can see why that might be attractive or necessary for some. Perhaps a retiree who wants to buy a special gift for a grandchild. We don't know and I wouldn't presume to pass judgment. I just wish everyone who buys from QVC would be aware they're buying very old, fairly useless stock, unless for maybe a 6 year old.

While I understand the point you made about why some might find easy pay easier, I still don't understand why someone would want to pay more for an item just because easy pay is the only option they have. It's not like we are talking about $10 or $20 difference between Q and other places that have payments available through store credit (Apple, Best Buy, Walmart, etc), we are talking about $100 or more. If you are in a position where you might not qualify for credit, why not take $100 a month a place in an envelope at home for 6 months instead of doing the same with with an easy pay payment to the Q? In 6 months you'll have enough money to buy 2 iPads from Apple or other store, where with the Q easy pay the same money only got you 1 iPad. I say easy pay yourself instead of the Q and in the end you will end up paying less and have more.

It's a natural preference, and pretty necessary for birthday, graduation, Xmas gifts that need to be timely. Whatever each of our own practices and preferences are, we ARE a credit-enthusiastic society. It can be used well or poorly, but that is up to each individual and what *they* decide to do with it.

Yes, we had to wait before we got them, but, we didn't overpay and unneeded accessories were not included to inflate the price.

Interesting. Never heard of that site before. I just looked at it. It's FDIC insured, and it pays you interest like a savings account does.

Yep if you dont have the money to save and wait then you cant, afford it. The post above about birthday gifts christmas ,gifts is rubbish. Take twenty dollars every pay day and put it in an envelope marked, gives. The you always have the cash when those times come.
