topic Spot on TV Picture in Electronics

We have a 52" Sony that is almost 2 years old. It recently developed a small spot on the picture which is less than the size of an pencil eraser. If there is a lot of color in the picture it can't be seen. Has anyone had this on their picture? Do you know what caused it?
