topic Router? in Electronics

I get a reading of 19 download on my laptop close to my router. I get halfway through the house and it goes down to about 10. I checked the modem and it's okay. The router had a distance of 100 ft when I got it. Is there anything I can do to get a higher speed further away. I'm about 60 ft from the router.

The router is about 3 years old. Should I get a new one?

Thanks.
