I LOVE my chromebook. No updates.no anti virus costs, never slows down, everything stored in the goggle cloud. No need to worry about losing info if your chromebook dies.

By the way, mine has hit the deck a million times and it works perfectly.I could not give a higher recommendation on any product.

I had an ASUS tablet and it died after only 15 months so I bought a chromebook. I like it - not as much as the tablet because it does not have a touchscreen, but it is certainly adequate and was inexpensive. It came with an additional 2 years warranty as well.Since all android devices save all your info out on the cloud you don't lose your stuff if something happens to your device - you just go to the cloud and there are all your photos etc just waiting for you to retrieve them.

My tablet only had a 10". I do recognize that a chromebook has it's limitations but for my needs - i don't do any actual work on it except paying my bills online - it is totally all I need. This is why I am not interested in investing in a ipad - i just do not find I need all that it is capable of doing. paying for all that is great if your going to use it - but I would not so why pay for what you don't need.

What kind of "work" do you all use your chromebook for - I come to this site, FB, e mails and photobucket, and I get on my banking site. Otherwise an occasional internet search to research something. And I play games on the AARP free games site. I do check the weather daily, and store recipes in my pocket site. Otherwise that is about it, so this inexpensive tablet is more than adequate.

I bought my Chromebook a year or so ago specifically because I wanted to take it with me on vacation - there is a specific website that I could access my work computer from and I didn't want to lug my larger, more expensive laptop. I actually now use it much more than my laptop because it is smaller and so fast to log on. Unfortunately, I can no longer log onto my work computer anymore as Chromebook no longer supports the Citrix application needed to access the site. [Should check to see if there has been any new fixes for this, actually.]

I don't do anything with photos or scrapbooking, etc. Just use it for the internet and I love it for that.

It is lightweight and very quick to log on. Nice to carry with you anywhere. The camera on mine stinks but I can use the very nice camera on my phone and they automatically transfer over here to my computer - don't ask me how that works because i don't know but every picture i take with my phone has appeared on my chromebook without me doing anything to make that happen.

You get uninformed buyers who think they can install Windows based software on the Chromebook and then return them when they find out they can't. The devices generally work better than most laptops on the market, but they use apps instead of the "normal" Windows software. People who don't know that, and there are a lot of uninformed people out there, buy them, try to install the software, find out they can't and then return the perfectly good Chromebook which can no longer be sold as "new." Therefore there are a lot of refurbished Chromebooks available at good prices.
