topic HP Touchpad . . . . what a disappointment. in Electronics

I was thrilled when the Touchpad was launched. By the way it was presented by Christine and Rick, I thought it was the best competition to the iPad I could ever hope for. I purchased it for my birthday gift and bragged about it to everyone. I easily connected to the wi-fi, which seemed available everywhere. I easily downloaded the apps that made my life easier (spent a considerable amount of money) and making the Touchpad the portable computer of my dreams! I loved the Touchstone as it made charging easy and convenient. The cover protected my investment and I was a happy camper. Then the reports of crashes, lost data, scrambled displays, and the extreme drop in price happened. At this point, my investment in apps, convinced me that I should try to make it work. The HP website showed the unit selling for $149, and after I had spent $700 for mine plus the cost of apps, I tried to negotiate with QVC to bring the cost down to what HP was selling them for. The compromise they came up with was a token credit of $110. That might have been ok, but then I started having issues with crashes and many of the apps not working at all. With that happening, I decided I'd better cut my losses and send the unit back. I appreciate QVC taking the unit back and refunding what I paid it. The really disappointing thing is I spent money on apps that I enjoyed, but now I cannot use them. Neither QVC or HP is willing to help me figure out a way to get at least some of that cost back; I can't even get anyone at either company to talk to me about it. If anyone out there has had any luck with this, please share your story. I'd be grateful for any help. Christine, what can you suggest?
