Our neighbor had that happen. I used to walk by their house with the dog early in the morning and their rear lights would be on. I first thought someone was in the car. But morning after morning would be the same thing. I wondered what kind of battery they had in the car - I wanted to buy one. I could not believe their battery wasn't dead.

After a week or so they got it fixed.

Try starting up the car, turn on the lights again, turn off, then turn off the car again and see if it at least shuts down for the night so you won't have a dead battery. Hope it works. Then get in for service.

My neighbor Chet just came over. He's very handy. The little stopper for my brake light switch broke (nr the brake pedal). I've been driving my 1987 Honda Accord for 27-1/2 yrs. Now I can drive to Honda tomorrow. Thx

Hope you've gotten that fixed by now. I had that happen not too long ago in my older model Mercury. It was, I believe, the brake light switch. The dealer said that had it gone completely and had I had my emergency brake on, I'd have not been able to move the car. But beyond that, anyone driving behind me would think I was braking. And, of course, the drain on your battery. All in all, needs quick attention.

I LUV my Honda.

Glad to hear you made out fairly cheaply today, I wasn't as fortunate. My wife dropped off a rear tire from our lawnmower because it kept going flat. I looked around all the tread and could not find a nail or hole in it.

Went to pick it up and? Not dice, it could not be repaired. Any time there is a whole or trear below the tread on the tire? It is toast. Instead of $15 I had to shell out $50 for the tire and another $15 to the bad tire taken off the wheel and the new one put on. Now I gotta look at this tire and see what the heck may have caused this.

Had the same thing happen on our Toyota and the tire had only 600 miles on it. Even though I had a Road Hazard Warranty, it does not cover sidewall damage as it does not fall under "manufacturing defect".

Car manufacturers or dealers do not cover the warranty on tires, that is done by the tire manufacturer. I ended up paying about $90 to replace this tire and that was with a discount given by the tired shop because I do business with them all the time. The dealer told me the same thing except the cost would have been $115 instead of the $90.

Glad your problem worked out better than mine.
