He is quite laid back....but pleasant enough....I think we are so use to all the hyper hosts that this quiet gentleman comes as a surprise...haha....

He certainly is not as energetic (some may say hyper) as someone like Aaron Berger, who presents many tablets on HSN. (I enjoy Aaron.) The LePan rep did not give a lot of detailed information about his tablet. I don't know how much of that is because of his skills or lack thereof as a presenter, and how much is because the tablet may not have many features to promote!

I am curious about this brand. I know it is sold on ShopHQ but I don't know much about it - how it is rated/reviewed/etc. I may do some online research but hope to see posts about the brand on these boards.

I saw him present the tablet earlier this morning. I thought he did a good job. He isn't hyper but a pleasant person delivering essential info. I've read reviews on various versions on Amazon of the various tablets produced by this brand. Some tablets come with a lot of bloatware that isn't needed. The way I understand it this comes with the essential and then you can download whatever else you need. I have a Google Play tablet that cost much more and is two years old. I may get this as a gift since I have until January to return it. The individual doesn't need a fancy expensive tablet but does need something to entertain her during months of recovery. She is in a position not to buy anything right now and the family is not into technology, etc. except for using a computer for an at home business and no one else touches that computer.

he was more animated when he presented the tablet with Dan Huges a short while ago...but him and Dan have been friends for 20 years....Jane, at midnight, and Rachael at 8am probably intimidated him because they kept interrupting him when he tried to explain anything.....

I wish the HOsts would just shut up and let the Vendors do their job.....Stacy kept interrupting the presenter ( a woman) at the 3am presentation....(yes, I haven't been able to sleep much today)......ugh....

Thank you for the information, circles (Reply No. 7). I won't "quote" you because that makes posts so long and cumbersome to read.

I will keep this in mind if I get a chance to watch any more presentations. So far, I only have seen the midnight show with Jane. (It now is nearly 11:30am Eastern Time on Friday, 7-18.)

Game over for me....last night, on one of the presentations, they said it was an 8 hour battery life....today its really 4 to 6....cs said up to 5 hrs....I have two other tablets that have a battery life of 8 to 9 hours....I expected that with this LePan....

I was just going to click summit order when I heard Kirsten say the battery life...I then called cs to make sure....and I backed out of my order....whew...glad I caught that...I would have been very disappointed once it was here....

The FAQ tab says the following:

Q: How long will a battery charge last?
A: The battery lasts up to 5 hours. However, this varies depending on how you use your tablet

The only time I ever use a tablet more than 2 hours at a time is when I am on a long trip. For the casual user in the home, 5 hours is enough. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab but I got this for my house-bound niece.

There's a young woman on with Jaquez right now and she's very good. The sales rep last night kept going off on boring tangents. Jane would ask him why we should trust the LePan name and he couldn't give a solid answer. She also tried to ask him the significance of the Google Play aspect and he went into a super technical discussion of connectivity to the Google platform. He was just not targeted in his presentation.

I complain about hosts as much as the next person, but one thing they've got down is how to give a presentation and hit the high points in an understandable manner. They also facilitate the discussion and keep it relevant. Last night Jane had her hands full with that rep.

I am not watching now (4pm Eastern Time hour), but the young woman might be Melissa Dawson, who used to sell prepaid cell phones and other electronics on HSN. See another thread on this Electronics board called Melissa Dawson Presenting LaPan (sic) Tablet. I thought she did a very good job on HSN.

I tend to agree with you about the male presenter for LePan, who I saw during the midnight show, but maybe he is new to on-air work. Melissa Dawson has years of experience in the TV sales business.

Okay, so just for kicks, William Joseph, why don't you put Pan Digital into the search field on the top left of this community forum. Make sure you select "search all community" above the search field. Then hit search....you will then see post after post of product problems.

Then, if that is not enough to keep you busy, do a google search..put in the search field La Pan Pandigital. Hmmmm? What results come up?? Bunch of problems because people bought a cheap tablet.

Lastly, how many times do people on the board need to tell you...Apple is not the SAME THING.

The presentations are definitely geared toward "beginners" and children. However, nothing is more frustrating than trying to learn something new on a device that doesn't perform well. Albany just now said and Melissa agreed that this tablet was made specifically for QVC.

Thats the worst part, the fact that someone who is new to technology will buy something like this. It is cheap, and will at some point need something done to it to make it work. (if it even works in the first place) The new person isn't going to know what to do, they will get frustrated, and then continue to shy away from technology.

Its a shame because technology is awesome, and in many ways can make life very enjoyable and entertaining. Technology shouldn't be hard or frustrating to understand. But if I were to get something for someone new to this technology, it would be something that works.
