I just had this problem with my Fuji digital camera. Took it to my local Dodd camera store and explained the problem. The nice lady that waited on me explained all I needed to do was to "format" my camera; she said that often when pictures are deleted "manually" although the picture disappears sometimes it remains in the memory card. She pulled out my memory card and was able to determine that there were about 70 pictures and offered to place them on disk for me if I wanted.

The cost was $2.50 and I said yes, even though these pictures were already on my computer, there were pictures of family members from almost 10 years ago. So she copied these pictures on to a CD, then formatted my memory card for me.

I have a Samsung digital camera that came up with the message 'memory full'. I always take off my photos and put them on my IMac so I don't keep photos on my camera but I still have the message.

I googled all I could about the memory card and also got the pdf instructions for my camera but the directions I got to delete the internal memory made no sense!! Do I need a memory card, if I don't store photos on the camera what is the card for, or I know I could also purchase a new memory card but what I'd really like to do is erase the internal memory but need advice, if anyone has any for me! Thanks!!

Some cameras have internal memory but it's very small. Most people need to use a SD card. You need to get into the menu and delete the photos from the internal memory and make sure it's set to place photos on the SD card.

The SD then becomes the "default" memory setting. Most cameras that have memory cards slots also have an option that comes up asking "format card" or something like that.

How big a card can be used in this camera? Never mind I see you can use a 4G card. Seems to me if you put in a card something would become and option as to which memory the user chooses. If you can put a card it and it shows the memory is going to the card I wouldn't even fool around with the internal memory, but that is just me.

I looked up this camera and it has little memory, only 17mb Flash memory which nowadays is pretty small.

How have you been putting the pictures on your Mac? Do you take the card out of the camera and plug it into the Mac or plug the camera into the Mac? You might be copying the pictures to your Mac but not deleting them from the card. Maybe your card is actually full.

If it's saying the internal memory is full I bet you can see them and delete them by first taking the card out of the camera and seeing if they display. Unless you first need to copy them to the card to save them.

I looked at the pdf manual and didn't see how to access or delete the internal memory but here's the link

http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200811/20081121151844625/BL1050_English.pdf

I have deleted everything as well as the empty folder but it still says 'memory full' (not internal memory full)....could I just need a new card?

I'll take the card out and see what happens. See if there is a setting somewhere when you copy them that says to delete after copying. Or when you are sure all the pictures got copied right then reformat the card in the camera to clear it. I don't automatically delete my card when I copy them anymore since 1 time it messed up copying them. I wait until I know I got them all then I delete my card.

You know...this is exactly what got Jodi arias busted with her pictures of the crime scene. She thought the destroyed the memory card. Then she threw the camera in the washing machine for good measure. But the crime pictures saved to the camera internal memory, and despite a spin cycle in the washing machine, the crime lab was able to retrieve the pictures from the internal memory. Which showed pictures of the actual murder, and one picture in particular of her foot while she was dragging a bloody body across the floor. Funny thing about this whole thing is that she claimed to be a professional photographer.....but didn't know about the internal camera memory saving pictures as well as the card memory. She's an idiot!! But anyway....I don't know the answer. Can you post the model so we can look up instructions and see if we can make sense out of it to help you?
