A charge on a conventional Kindle should last weeks. A charge on a Kindle Fire won't last as long since they use more power, but for a plain old Kindle the charge should last a long time. If your Kindle uses apps make sure you close them down when you're done. I don't mean just stop using them, I mean close them out from running in the background.
