Do they have a customer service number? Sometimes when I need to get a question answered I do try to reach the company. Sometimes they can help and sometimes not.

Also a local store who sells the model. Are you near a retailer? They often have sales people in the know.

I gave my laptop to my daughter who needed it. I will not buy another one for myself, but am looking for some sort of super tablet to carry around. I saw the Surface but I am not sure I want to spend that much.

Anyone out there have DSL? I just bought a new Epson printer, all in one. I have bought other all in ones, but have never set up the fax part, even though I need to. I have DSL and my printer is wireless, but can use Ethernet or USB. I vaguely remember a ver old printer I had that had directions to unplug DSL every time I want to fax. I never did this because I have so many wires under my old desk that I thought I would get confused about which wires were which. I am hoping the new machine, an Epson WF 3540 will be easier to set up for faxing and that I won't have to keep unplugging anything to send faxes. Does anyone know anything about this?

Did you read the owners manual? It's usually on the installation CD. You can also do a Google search. There is no one way to set up the fax part of a AIO.

The owners manual that comes with it or on the website and there might be a setup CD. We have a Canon printer and set it up quickly following the steps and my DH and I aren't very technical.

We have a wireless Epson WF2530 with fax and copier also ~ purchased a couple of months ago. I'm not sure how much different your model is, but just follow the instructions on the CD for installation. We are not techy at all in our house, but it was easy to do. I noticed when I faxed the first time (follow the instructions in the book), the documents first scanned, then sent to the fax number I requested. So far, we love this little unit.

The manual (page 311) says, "If you connected your product to a DSL phone line, you must connect a DSL filter to the phone jack to enable faxing over the line. Contact your DSL provider for the necessary filter."

You need to plug a phone land line cable into it. I only plug my phone line into my fax when I want to receive or send and then don't answer the phone when it rings. Otherwise it gets messed up with the answering machine. And see the post above for needing a DSL filter for it.

If you don't still have a land line I don't know what people do that only have cell phones. I think you have to use a land line phone.

I just plug a phone cord into mine, from the main phone jack on the wall to the fax. Nothing else to really set up. But if you don't have a second phone line, then you can't be on the phone when you want to send and receive faxes.
