Oh No! An Origami TS!

I just HAD to look at HSN and I see they have a tall bookshelf in several lovely colors!

They have nice pastel colors!

Bought two: White and bronze. I am going to put them in the garage and/or laundry room to hold books and/or my baking pans. Do you think they will be good for this?????

I think they would be great for books and baking pans! I previously bought a slim rolling shelf for my laundry room and the shelves are very sturdy.

I would like a couple more, but need to decide on colors. I want one in my kitchen to hold cookbooks and extra pantry items. They are the best thing since sliced bread!

Finally decided on cranberry and sage. I wanted to order before the colors started selling out. Free shipping was also a plus!

I'm still trying to wrestle the last pair of shelves out of the carton and into the garage. They are very heavy. These are great shelving units.

@Kachina624 I'm GLAD they come in boxes...........but I have to cut them up so they fit into the city recycling container. I'm sort of "way behind" and still have a few boxes standing against the garage wall............................

I want this so much, but I'm not sure about being able to haul it upstairs by myself. It's 27 lbs. That's doable for me to some degree, just not doable going up a flight of stairs. Down a flight would be fine, just can't handle getting it upstairs. I love Origami shelving!!!!!!!!!

@Krimpette I have similar shelving unit and it is fairly light. It has wheels, so it is easy to manuever.

Over the years, I have figured out how to haul large things into my house. I have had to be creative!

For the stairs, it might be easier to push it up rather than pull. If the stairs are carpeted, it would be easier. If they are wood, keep it in the cardboard box and push it up!

@Desertdi The blush is so pretty! I bought the blush in a rolling shelf for my laundry room. There is nothing in there that is blush, but I just HAD to have it!

I may end up switching the new one and using the blush in a spare bedroom.

@flickerbulb Sounds sort of doable, so i'll think about it for awhile. Thanks for the suggestion. I had no problem with a recent shelving unit for my basement. But in that case, I was able to slide it down the steps. (One of the few times when I don't enjoy living alone!!!!). Thanks again!

I wish I'd tuned earlier. That sage...now gone...is gorgeous!!!

I have the earlier bookcase; LOVE that they've added lattice on the sides of this one. That sold me!!

I'm off to take some measurements. I think this will do a better job than a square origami unit I currently have. I'll do some switching around.

I wish do the bookcase had wheels like some of the other origami.

@Desertdi I've got a number of big cartons that I need to get rid of. I did discover they're easy to bend to fit in the recycling container if I soak them with the hose. However, I've accumulated so many that I may load them all into my SUV and take them to the landfill. One of the few times I wish there was a man around here = going to the dump.

What color did you get?

You were smart, @flickerbulb. I read this thread shortly after it was posted and hightailed it to HSN to look at the bookcase, but they were out of sage at that point. Wasn't even showing as a waitlist.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but at the top left of all of my HSN pages is a code for 15% off that you can "use as many times as you want."

I think you can buy the wheels as a separate purchase.

I found out the hard way to buy early when they have multiple colors as they fly out faster than items on the Q.

I woke up in the middle of the night and sage was gone!

Well, I just saw THIS folding closet and it looks like it would be an answer to my oddly configured closet! I have two walk-in closets, but they are a strange shape. The rod is really high to hang clothes and I need to stand on a small footstool to take off hangers.

I have tried to just pull them off, but I end up breaking the hanger. I have a small cabinet for towels, but it does not hold all of them. Maybe this is a solution? A project for my Spring Break!

I have the ts bookshelf in bronze- from years ago. It was my fost oriami piece! I use it adjacent to my kitchen and the color blends really nicely with the woodwork in my home.

Well...I started measuring, and looking around, and it turns out the bookcase I have already has the lattice on the sides...so the TS isn't different in that way. I think the "new" is all the decorator colors.

I still may have gotten another. Who can't use another origami (book)shelf unit? But now the second color I would have chosen (after sage)...cranberry...is also gone.
