Right now , i have a blouse I haven't yet started and some mending projects. I am also working on a seashell picture in cross stitch -it is slow progress because there are only 3 to 4 stitches per line in a certain color - no whole rows. Thus it gets tedious. I have 4 needles threaded at once and I keep switching off colors. I am certain I am making some mistakes but the pattern is forgiving. When it is finished I will get it framed for in the guest BR that is all decorated in seashells.

I posted yesterday, but it never came up. Anyway, I am working on some Christmas aprons (3), I bought the material and pattern in November 2012. Haven't finished even one! Hopefully will have all 3 done in a few months. Also cross-stitching a little red bird with some holly for Christmas. It's a small project, and I tend to do better with smaller projects. A few years ago, I stitched a fairly big piece for Easter with 2 bunnies in flower pots, and it had a LOT of thread colors. Took me a year and a half, and it came out beautifully. Good luck on your projects!

I love to hear what others are working on! TY, HH, for starting this!

I'm doing a little sun dress for my DGD (19 mos.) I'm only balked because my classes have started, and my attention is elsewhere. I'm in the middle of the dress.

Last week when I had her for a day, I wanted the little Dickens to try on the bodice.....and she refused! Little Punkin! So I have no idea if this is going to fit her or not. I had to alter the pattern because I got the wrong size! And she's also growing by a leap and a bound!

I want to do a retro dress for myself, if I can find the perfect pattern. (I'm wondering if my Mom has all her old patterns up in the attic.)

I almost always have a cross stitch project going on - sometimes several at once. Right now this seashell pattern I really want to be done so I can put it in the bathroom - then I have a sewing room one with an old fashioned Singer sewing machine formy sewing room to complete. some times they can take years to finish - but i love to have my work hanging on the wall. Harpa - when i was little my Mom had a girlfriend who loved to sew - and only had sons - so she would make me the cutest little jumpers and dresses all the time. i always knew if we were going over there I was going to be trying on some half finished project and have pins sticking in me.But she was a great sewer and I had beautiful dresses all through school. she also got me started sewing. She even made my wedding dress.

I would have chimed in!

I want the Singer Stylist 7258. Home Depot has the best price. It's supposed to have come into stock on the 5th, but still out. I can wait, since the other one is working good. I think I could have gotten anything, but just wanted a step-up. I'm anxious to try a self-threadder!

My Mom currently has a basic White.

That's so neat about your Mom's GF, who sewed for you!

Happy Housewife...is the cross-stitch with the sewing machine a Paula Vaughn pattern? If so, I did that many years ago and it came out great! It has an old fashioned sewing machine and a long blue dress in it. I love Paula Vaughn patterns, but they are usually very involved.

I do not sew, but was considering this one for me because I always need to hem skirts and other alterations. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, Southern Bee

For Christmas they made pillows and blankets for family members.

My other daughter's 7 year old daughter wanted a sewing machine (cost me $100 from Walmart) for her birthday in December.

So far I don't know if she's used it yet. I always have something I'm crocheting.

I haven't sewed much in months. I think it is a lost art.

I want to sew some doll outfits for my eight-year old Twin Granddaughters' dolls. I bought them each a "My Twinn" 23" doll. The My Twinn dolls look like my identical twin granddaughters. So, I want to make some special dresses and such for them. I think the Holidays and the awful cold weather have sapped my creative energy for now. I welcome your words of inspiration so I can make the doll clothes. Making twin clothes for twin dolls is more work than I anticipated. Once I get started it will probably be fine. What do you sewers do to get a neglected project started?

I'm happy you started this thread too. Sewing and craft projects are a few of my favorite things and I'm always at the fabric and craft store looking for more projects .I have made a couple retro summer dresses too, and I see that they are even making retro style patterns now !!! I love the Christmas apron idea, who couldn't use a cute one during the Holidays ?! For gifts I made yarn snowballs and big stockings to put them in and personalized them for each family as their indoor snowball fight kits . Your seashell cross stitch sounds darling HH (: keep it going girls , love to hear about your projects !!
