I'm wondering if it's just me. I bought some candles and the large jars are great. The small jars smell great up close, but there is no scent when lit. Others?

I bought some candle warmers like scentsy and they are so strong and wonderful, blueberry smell.

What is your favorite brand smell for candles?

Some Yankee scents are definitely stronger than others and the soot problem with them seems to be becoming worse. Yet I do still buy them sometimes, along with the Bath And Body Works candles.

I haven't purchased YC in years. I buy Pure Integrity candles. I just went back to burning with tealights. I was using cubes from BH&G but they don't throw the scent like tealights. I won't pay the price of Scentsy when BH&G are just as good or better.

I still like Yankee Candle, but I do purchase BBW scents often. That's because I can cut out the soft wax and put it in my warmer. YC doesn't really work that well on the warmer (in my opinion).

I do like to purchase Scentsy products on ebay --- I can't think of specific ones at the moment, but I usually buy a few for each season. I have to look into some new ones for spring and summer.

I read somewhere recently that Yankee Candles are the dirtiest-burning candles there are - meaning they leave soot marks on the walls an ceiling.

They used to have a Crème Brulee scented candle that was just wonderful to smell.

I used to love Yankee candles but I too believe they are dirty burning candles. Earlier this year when I had pnuemonia I lit one candle and within 15 minutes I was coughing like crazy! I put the candle out thinking maybe the scent was too much, but a friend told me it was probably the soot!

I can't walk near Yankee Candles in the store or mall. I guess maybe it's the combination of scents, but they just smell BAAAAD to me, so I've never purchased or burned them. I'm really fussy about scents, including candles that I burn.

The best candles I've found are the Bath & Body Works three-wicks. They burn evenly, cleanly and the scent fills up my 1500 sq. ft. home. I don't like all of the scents, but they have some that I just love and since I discovered them I've been burning candles a LOT more frequently. They have lots of scents to choose from and rotate seasonal scents all the time. B&BW also has great sales on a regular basis.

I've given up on Yankee Candle for the very reasons OP stated. I now buy from Archipelago in the Havana scent which is a sensual tobacco/bergamot blend. Smells out of this world! Great on cold winter nights.
