Help with color please

I have concrete pots outside on my porch and a bench and I love concrete and my precious friend gave for me Christmas and I just got it two days ago and standing lion and I love it well he is in a sitting up position and she painted him gray.........she asked me what color of things would I want on my porch and I said concrete color........now the wreath on my door is peacock which is a grapevine wreath with peacock ribbon on the feathers in the ribbon and beautitful greenry and flowers in peacock blue, so should I keep the lion gray or paint him again concrete color as she did not realize the paint gray would be darker when it dried? Thank you I want to look nice and not like a circus. Isabella

@DowntonAbbey ~ what color would you want to paint the lion?

What color(s) are your pots? I'd try to stay neutral, becuase your door wreath seems colorful, and if you plant flowers in the pots, that will be colorful as well.

So, I guess you're saying the lion is a darker color of gray than the rest of the concrete near it, right? If so, then I would probably go ahead and paint him a lighter color to match if possible. I get from your post that you're uncomfortable with the way it looks now, so I think you should go ahead and do it.

Thank you for answering the concret around my front porch is all the sand concrete color like a side walk ...........just the standard concrete color but the lion next to my concrete bench in gray??? Should I paint it again the color of sand like the color of my concrete pots and bench? Thank you.

It is kind of hard to tell you. without pictures of the things together.

Does the darker grey look like a nice contrast to your 'concrete' colors? I would think some contrast would look better than just monotone all the same color of the concrete.

If you are able to post pictures, I think we could be of more help.

I think everything sounds like it would work together nicely.

Try it all out first. If you don't like the lions painted gray, paint them to match the concrete.

You won't know if you like it until you see it altogether

Thank you well I do not want to hurt my friend and she does not come and see me often but its gray and everything in concrete is the light sand color NOW WOULD THE GRAY BE OK AROUND THE CONCRETE COLOR because if it will be ok then I will leave it as is.........its not that I have to paint it is does it look ok with it being gray and everything else is sand color in the concrete. That is all I have is concrete pots and I love concrete. Thank you

@DowntonAbbey Well, if it were me, I probably would need to have it match, but it's hard to say definitively without actually seeing it myself.

@DowntonAbbey ~ from reading your further posts, I think the gray color on lions will bother you, so IMO I would paint them the sand color or just a bit deeper in the sand color family for a bit of contrast. Sorry for bold print, guess I tapped on it in error.

I don't understand at all what you are talking about when you say sand colored concrete. Isn't your concrete grey - unless it is tinted some color - concrete is grey.

I've never seen concrete the color of sand, only grey, lol. I guess the color is a regional thing.

Hello bold print is fine with me as I can see it better and you know me somewhat to know I am really bothered by the gray..........when she sent me pictures as she was painting it it was a concrete color of sand.........and light beige whatever someone calls it but you know concrete pots are the color of a beige sandy beach anyway it is gray really gray and it is the only thing out there gray as all else is either the peacock blue in my wreath and birthbath is glass with peacock feathers painted on and then the concete pots and then the big gray lion............he sticks out and he is beautiful and I do need to glue him to the heavy concrete base but he is so gray............I wanted him placed at the walkway into my porch but they thought he was too big. So he is sitting at the end of my area to place things and he is bold and beautiful but gray. lol

True and with my greenry of live plants and then flowers that grow in shade will be out front also.

@DowntonAbbey I understand what you're saying about the color. I think I can even picture it in my mind. He is just a darker color of grey.....not the real color of concrete. He probably looks a little like wet cement. I'll just come over and help you pick the paint to make him match because I'm sure it would bother me too if I saw it!

Concrete IS sand! It is sand color unless color is added.

However, sand can vary in color. Concrete sand is dug up it is not beach sand!

Like others have mentioned, I've only seen concrete sidewalks in the color of gray. I've seen concrete custom blended colors poured for landscape edging, around pool areas, etc., but sidewalks and concrete roads always gray. Our patio was a poured, stamped concrete and we had a color choice of cement. Paint your lion to coordinate with the pots, etc. I'm sure it will look great.

A happy lion is a sand colored lion...hear him roar @DowntonAbbey!

Concrete is ground up limestone - it has sand in it as a binder but the actual material is limestone and untreated concrete is GREY.

@DowntonAbbey I don't know too much about the different phones. I have an LG. Can you email from your phone? Do you have a camera? If so, then take a picture, send it to your email address, open it in your email, save it to your pictures in your computer. Then you can access your pictures when you post a comment and have the picture inserted using the third tab from the right on the top line. It's easy after you do it a couple of times.
