I bought a strand of battery operated lights from Pottery Barn in November for a table top tree that I had in our bedroom. As soon as I saw them I had to have them, they are small stars, and are perfect for what I needed. I was leery, because I did not have luck either the BL lights. Well those stinkers are still going strong......steady on....since Thanksgiving on 4 AA batteries. No kidding! I bought 2 more strands!

I am wanting to buy some to put away for next year. The ones I have are from 4 yrs ago and when tried to order said that they were no longer stocked. I like these so much, great light, long battery life etc. I have noticed that many of the strands are on clearance , which is great , but only if they are a nice warm, bright, clear light, which is what the ones I have are. Do not want a blue/white light. I was reading the reviews on many of them and they dont seem to have very favorable reviews.

If you have some that you really like from this year please let me know. I prefer the mini lights or micro mini's.

Thanks !

I haven't been happy with any of the BL light strands I have gotten (maybe that is why they don't have many favorable reviews and are on clearance] Even the micro lights I have gotten have such a big battery box and the batteries don't last that long. Got rid of most of mine. Maybe someone else has had better luck with theirs and can recommend a set.

Took my lights down today and trashed my BL battery operated strands. I had the single strands and net lights for the bushes. This was our second year having them and it was terrible. Two strands broke just after two days. Timers always had to be re-set, they would turn on and off (and not at the set we had it timed for). Some strands were more dull than others, even with new batteries. What a pain. Got some GE icicle lights via some recommendations on these boards and when they were up against the BL lights, hands down the GE were nicer and brighter. Got some more GE net lights on clearance for about $7 a box. Never, never BL again.

Thanks for the info ladies, I guess the ones I bought 3 yrs ago are long gone and they have replaced them with inferior light strands. I wish now I had bought more, just thought they would continue offering them.

Dose GE also sell battery operated strands like these ? Never looked for them in the stores.

Kitty----I bought the smaller LED strands (where the lights look like little round bulbs) about 2 years ago and got a couple more this year. LOVE them. I have several older ones that are at least 5-6 years old. So simple and they come on every night, whether we are home or not. I especially love the wreaths and not having to deal with ugly wires!!

One trick that I use is that I enclose the box in a zip-lock bag to protect it from the elements. Works like a charm.

I especially love the glisten mode. I see they only have white left but they had a variety of colors (the red and green are my favorite). I'm sure they'll be back next season. I highly recommend just slipping the box into a Zip Lock bag. It definitely protects it even though they are marketed as water proof.

When I find out the item numbers I will re-post... We had very good luck with the

battery operated indoor/outdoor lights,,, We left on vacation the middle of

December and before we left I put up the net lights to come on at 6 PM and 8:30 PM

so that we had lights on from 6M tp 2:30 AM.. We also had lights on the pre-lit

wreaths on the doors with added lights that came on at 8.30 PM ETC.. There were

3 cars in the driveway and 2 at the side... because we all left for the Airport from

our home.. Our children did the same from their homes, one also used a timer...
