Cleaning Underneath Frig

I just removed the plastic grill from the frig to vacuum the coils. It looked like my dog's coat so it seems that I need to get after that chore more often!

The next task is to move the frig and stove and vacuum and clean underneath. I really need to mark it on the calender to ensure it gets done in a timely fashion.

How often do you move the stove and frig to clean underneath? It always seems so fresh in the kitchen after it gets done.

I'm obsessive cuz I have long hair kitties & lucky hubby does under all appliances end of every month.

Its amazing whats sometimes under there besides kitty toys!

I don't move my appliances. I use one of these handy vacuum cleaner tools I picked up from amazon. First time I used it I thought I found an animal living under my stove! LOL! I use it a couple times a month...golden retriever.

When we snowbird north for the summer we unplug our major appliances so they have to be pulled out to reach the plugs and DH cleans under them at that time.Then they are out in the middle of the kitchen for 5 months before they get pushed back in place and turned on. same with the camper - DH pulls everything out and we clean behind it and unplug before we leave in the fall. So appliances are cleaned 2x a year. Before we leave Florida in the spring we also have the carpets and upholstered furniture steam cleaned, and I wash all the bedspreads and steam clean the mattresses. I am asthmatic so i can't have dust mites running amuck.

At my house, if the fridge especially, doesn't get pulled out about every 60 days or so, it is a real disaster under there.

We do have pets, and that makes more mess accumulating under there, but for us, any less often would be frightening.

When we had pets, we cleaned under the appliances several times a year. Now they have all crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and it's just the two of us here. Once a year seems like enough now.

I looked at the tool designed for the Shark vacuum and they had one listed for $9,999.99.

Yes, almost 10 THOUSAND American dollars for a vacuum tool! I don't know if it is a joke or a mistake!

I have also used a yard stick that gets straight to the wall, attach either a dampened papertowel, or handywipe (thin) and that helps.

That's funny!

My vacuum is a Shark and the attachment I bought is generic. I think it works perfectly! It's flexible where it attaches to the vacuum handle. I paid around $16 for it.

I've done this sometimes too. Doesn't really clean good for me way in the back, but keeps the worst of it cleaned out between times when I pull the fridge out completely.

About once a quarter I pull out the fridge, washer, and dryer, and clean under them including vacuuming and steam cleaning.

It also works with old pantyhose stretched over the yardstick

@SilleeMee - I use that too....it's a Godsend!!! I use that to clean under my washer and dryer as well AND to clean inside the dryer by sliding it into the dryer filter slot after I pull out the filter.

I got my Shark under appliance attachment for my Rocket at the bay for $19.99, @flickerbulb . I knew that was a deal, but now I feel EVEN BETTER
