Solar light set recommendations

Does anyone have good solar landscape light sets that they love? Looking for a large set of bright white lights that are durable.

I bought the TSV solar lights last year and they were mostly duds. Some did not work even after I replaced the batteries.

They used to sell wired Malibu lights but then solar took over.

I noticed at WM, Lowes and HD are back to selling wired outdoor lights but they have different lightbulbs.

I would like to go back to wired as the solar lights don't last and the batteries are expensive.

So to answer your question, I have not found any sets that work the way I would like them to work and would also welcome suggestions.

I have given up on solar lights we tried several of the "top brands" (with top $$$) and all were duds in less than a year of use. Our next lighting will be hard-wired by an electrician!

I'm on my second set of HGTV lights from HSN. They are well-made. I'm not an expert in solar lights but I must say that one of the most important things about solar lights is their batteries. Makes a world of difference on performance. I use NiMH type. This type has been coming in many lights lately. Used to be NiCd, imo are inferior.

I love and have good luck with HGTV solar lights on HSN. I prefer the metal stakes. I have clay soil and I just think that they are sturdier. The other thing I like is the color choices. I prefer copper or bronze and that is a little more difficult to find.

I did see hte Paradise solar lights on QVC and was tempted to order them when they were a TSV, The reviews were good from what I was able to find.

We have a larger lot and it's irregular in shape. I have dogs and there is more wildlife around my yard than I ever thought. I have solar lights everywhere.

I wish i could give you a great review but like most others i have not found any real good ones. The last ones i bought were the energizer tsv from qvc last year and again i was disappointed. The light fixture is beautiful and well made but the light is not great and does not last til morning

I bought a set of 8 good house keeping brand at Costco last spring. They were $49. Of course, they were in the flyer the next month for $35. They are substantial and bright. They stayed out all winter buried in the snow. They are going strong.

I order the set of 8 Scott Living in December but barely set them up this week. My only complaint you are supposed to remove the protective plastic from solar part but was unable to but it's still displays a lot of light and you can see the star burst it makes. Very happy with them.

I had some HGTV ones from Costco and they got funny after a few months so I took them back. The cells got cloudy so couldn't really charge. To replace them, I got two sets of 12 here on qvc last summer and I love them. They are still going strong with no battery change yet. They can be switched from white to color-changing - I keep them white all year except Christmas time.

i think they were $80 each set. Will try to see if I can find number for you.

I was just looking at the set from this year. They look nice! I am not sure the brand of the current Costco set. Of course, by the time I started looking at them, the sale is now over!

@mimi5775, Just make sure you that they go deep in the ground so they don't flip sideways with the wind. I made sure the area was somewhat moist so they could go in easily but sturdy. I've added a bird bath and a small gardenia tree to the area.

@qvcfreakoh I love the look, darling with the patch of grass and birdbath..my style with the rabbits too TY for the tip. We have so much wind which hits our big home, rips off shutters so help me every March! (hate the sound of it through windows). Lots of wind late last night.

When I find a good brand of lights I will place in the damp soil. We have had sooo much rain here (live not far from Q) the ground is quite moist still.. but ugh it's gonna rain even more this week.

Now to find the solar lights!

PS: looked for the 8 Scott Living ..the reviews are very bad

but look great (lol)

@mimi5775, I live in South Texas and it has been windy as well over here, I don't mind hearing it what I hate is driving and it moves my car on the expressway. But back to topic, I had mine in the ground for a little over a year and I've had no problems with them. None of the lights have gone out or broken. I just installed the bird bath in March.

I haven't read the reviews yet but I'm wondering if they didn't install them deep enough. I know when I first put mine in, the ground was hard so they tipped but after a good rainfall I pushed them in and I haven't had to do anything but enjoy them. I hope you find a set you love and will enjoy for a long time. Good Luck

@qvcfreakI know about the wind on highways..you got me there! scary swaying esp. when I truck goes betwixt us and the wind!! :-O
