Where do you store throws/blankets?

Do you put these in a spare closet, basement, attic? I'm not keen on putting them in the attic and I probably have too many blankets and throws to be honest. What do you do with yours?

Mine fit nicely in the large linen closet in the hall. We prefer cotton quilts on our beds instead of blankets.

I love quilts too. My closets for linens aren't very deep and are filled with other stuff so I can't use them for blankets.

Whoever built our home has some great ideas.. Each of our bedrooms has it's own linen closet in addition to clothes closets. So storing each room's bedding is never a problem.

Some I put in underbed storage tubs and the rest go on the shelves above the clothes racks in our closets. Our 2 daughters are grown so I have their 2 bedroom closets for extra storage.

We have several guest bedrooms with sleep sofas in them. I place a throw folded nicely on the arm or side of each sofa. The same with the family room sofas.

As for blankets I have not found a good place for them so they are folded and each guest room closet and our blanket is on our bed.

I guess I am lucky. I have storage "benches" in each room where I place out of season linens for each area of my home. I even have them in the living room to place afghans /throws when I change them. I also have downsized, so I have only one set of sheets (per season) for each bedroom. My linen closet is only large enough for a few towels.

we use quilts for the beds so I use a quilt rack for a few and the rest are in the linen closet or a storage bench

I bought some storage ottomans for my extra blankets The ottomans are useful and it's very easy to grab a blanket out when needed. I have two larger bench ottomans at the end of the bed for linens and two smaller ottomans in the living room for blankets and throws for the couch.

Some are in the smallish linen closet. Most are on the shelving in the guest bedroom closet, which also serves as my "extra" clothing space.

That had to be designed by a woman! I'd love that feature. I've never seen that done in a home before, but what a great idea. I'm jealous!!!

I purchased several of the VPH ottomans. I have several of the smaller set of two, and a couple of the bigger ones. They are great for storing the throws, off season.

For blankets, I have a closet at the end of our hallway in the upstairs. It isn't very big, but I think was probably designed as a coat closet. I just stack all my blankets, extra quilts, and extra kitchen rugs in there. And it is completely filled from floor to ceiling. I have pared down a number of times, but each time there seems to be more than when I started.

Throws are stored in each room, either in the closet or some piece of furniture. Extra quilts, blankets and decorative pillows are stored in a large closet under the stairs.

Down blankets, when not on the beds, are stored in our only linen closet, located in the hall area, along with extra sheets, pillows, shams, and quilts.

All extra throws not tossed over the sofas go in this piece of furniture, which is used as an end table in my living room. It opens from the front for easy access. It was from the Linda Dano Home line that QVC offered.

We have a large linen closet and all our blankets, bed linens and throws are stored there. I'd love to have linen storage in each bedroom like @Perkup has in her home, great idea.

@SHOPR I love that. I wish Linda Dano was still coming to QVC. She had some great items.

Linen and/or other closet, plus my old Lane cedar chest at the foot of my bed..

If necessary, I would also use an under-the-bed thingy.

BTW, chests & trunks are a great value since they're 'multi-use':

for storage + as a coffee/other table.

And as mentioned, quilt racks are helpful too.

I have throws, blanket, & quilts -

most in natural breathable fibers like cotton, wool, & down.

Forgot to mention that when you live in a small or tiny place, furniture that does double (or triple) duty really rocks.

For example, I have a platform storage bed, with drawers built into the sides as well as the bottom.

It's more pragmatic than attractive, I guess, but it's priceless when it comes to storage. 8)

Blankets go on a shelf in the walk in closet.

Throws used around the tv go in a storage closet in the kitchen that is the under stair area. I have a shelf in there with cookbooks, family photo albums and the laundry basket of toys and puzzels for the grand children.

When they were just tiny, every time they came they'd open "their door" and slide out their basket!
