Calling All Crafters - January 2016

Hi everyone, I hope I am not duplicating someone else's efforts. I looked but didnt see anything for January except a thread for Michael's which I didnt open. Is anyone else looking forward to Tuesdayon HSN? Anna Griffin has some wonderful new items & it looks like the TS willbe the Crafters Companion. I always end up debating whwhether or not I should buy it & ultimately deciding not to. I expect I will have that same debate with myself again :-)

I am very excites about AG's Ornamental Frame Dies. Those look beautiful. It looks like HOTP will have a beautiful set of dies as well (I think it is HOTP) Also her wallpaper is on clearance so I am thinking about that too. I think it would look pretty on the closet doors of my second bedroom which I use as an office, library & cat room, but the budget may not allow :-)

My three orphan kittens have all been placed in great homes (they were so much fun!) & my youngest cat is happy again. She was incredibly stressed by all the attention I had to give them, but she is back to her normal self which is reassuring. I wasnt sure if she might be sick or if it was stress.

I hope everyone is well, that you had a nice holiday season & that your new year will be your best year. As usual, I hope to spend more time crafting. Certainly my Sundays are a little freer now that football is ending. My Cardinals were crushed by Cam Newton & his Panthers. He sure makes it lookeasy, but I will be rooting for Peyton Manning & the Broncos in the Super Bowl. If they lose I can console myself with the Puppy Bowl & the Kitten Bowl :-D

I hope we get some comments & reviews from Tuesday's shows too.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow! Nowhere to go. My car is cleaned off (thanks to some entepreneurs who have come through my neighborhood - they'll be rich by the end of today!).

I had already AG's vellum and card layers set and have already received it. I had wanted to order that pen that add foil accents, so I got that too. Funny, I don't ever remember having seen that pen before. Anxious to try it.

Thanks for the heads up for the craft shows on HSN. Not a HSN viewer, but may watch tomorrow, as I am a big HOTP fan.

Hi @Krimpette & @WSfan, Glad you will be viewing tomorrow! The metallic & vellum layers are on my list as is the flocked paper. I think I could create a beautiful ombre wall with all the paper I have but I just love it! @Krimpette are you talking about the Minc pen or is there another?

The pen I'm talking about is actually the heat foil pen (Item number is 416-946, but it's now sold out). It takes a different foil than the Minc. I think there are similar devices on Amazon. I believe it's by American Crafts. I ordered some additional foils from Amazon. I'm anxious to try it, since it appears that you can do your signature or message that you write in foil, or add foil accents to embellishments. I honestly never remember having seen it before. Hope I enjoy it! I love my Minc!

Just some addtl info - An email I recd from Crafters Companion says the TS will be the Diamond Press machine. It die cuts and embosses 1 7/8" x 6 1/4".

Bummer! Yet another die cutting/embossing machine! I think I'll pass. I'll probably do enough damage with Anna Griffin stuff anyway!

@mewsmomtoo Good to hear that your kitty is feeling less stressed now that the foster kitties have gone on to new homes.

I've already placed my AG order as I have to record the shows and watch them after they've aired. I bought both auto-ships, the flocked layers, the vellum layers and the Sweet Salutations card set. Paying that bill will keep me working for a while longer.

I was considering purchasing Paper Tricks 2, but the review put me off. I probably can do most of those things with a Cricut cartridge anyway. I have no interest in the TS.

I have to confess....I was really taken by that TS die cut/embosser. Looks like it will be really handy for smaller items! So I ordred it on A/S in the pink, as well as the storage binder. I'm such a sucker for gadgets!!!! Also ordered the alphabet dies and the A/G flocked layer set. I just love these craft days.

(edited to add) Just canceled the alphabet dies and instead ordered the Downton Abbey card kit. I better quit for the day!)

So far, I haven't seen anything that I absolutely need or want, and sure don't need another die cutting machine. The host is saying to buy 2 of them. Sounds familiar. Same sales pitch, different channel.

I've been watching but so far have not ordered. I'm trying to get more organized with what I have so am being picky about what I add to my very unorganized stash. My house is tiny and I'm overflowing with craft stuff! The one thing I've had my eye on is the tool Anna Griffin is using on her intricate frames. I have seen the regular one by Spellbinders online so I'm trying to figure out what makes Anna's worth the extra money to buy. Anybody know? I know hers comes with extra tips but I'm not sure what they are for. I don't even know what I'd use those sponges for. I know they are for stamping but I still don't get it. Call me Clueless, I know!

I'm not going for the TS. I already have two Sidekicks (anyone remember those) so I have something for the small dies. Truthfully, I rarely use that one. I wish they'd have come up with something different for this today's special, but there seems to be plenty in the market for this one, so I'm being selfish.

Oh my gosh, those were pretty! I don't tend to color, but I was even tempted by them. I'm sorry you missed out.

So far, I have only ordered AG's layered flowers, though I could open a flower shop with all of the flowers I have.

Does anyone have AG's emboss, cut, and create idea book? The description doesn't state how many pages there are.

We all have our addictions, Kindaglitzy. This is not a bad one to have so it's all good. I hope it comes back for you soon too.

Mousiegirl, I have the book and it is beautiful with 104 pages. I don't think anyone would regret purchasing it!

Krimpette....I agree! I just love that little machine! I have more than enough but and starting to think it may be just the thing for my granddaughter who has a birthday coming up. She'll be 9 and that would be just the rihgt size and easy enough for her to use on her own. Grammy has more than enough of the smaller emossing dies and supplies to share with her so that'ss something to think about.

I just had to pop in and see what you girls were buying!!

I also could not resist the tsv. I make a lot of cards and figured it would be good for that and it has a small foot print. Also got the case for the supplies that come with the machine. I also bought the HOTP garden window kit. I haven't had much luck with the spectra noir markers so I did not get the sparkle ones which I would like. I missed out on the downton stamps but that is ok. Been debating about the totally Tiffany set of 3 stamp cases. Still may get them after seeing that you can use them for or her things. No Anna for me this time. The one thing I wanted sold out. However the night is still young.
