Polar Fleece Sheets!

Wednesday I was watching Q with my sis and fell in love with the polar fleece sheets in the color Thistle and my sister bought them for me before I could order them! Isn't that just so sweet?

That was so kind of her. I hope you like them. As for me, I have no use for them. I prefer crisp, cool sheets, even in the cold of Winter.

I bought some Maldin Mills sheets for my son last year when they were a Lunch Time Special. They are perfect for this time of year! Thanks for the item number @Melvin-QVC I think I'll order some for my bed now. 😊

@Love my grandkids I love that thistle color too! That was so sweet of your sis. My mom often does the same for me, and I do it for her. We watch QVC together while talking on the phone then sometimes we surprise each other by ordering whatever was on air that we liked (usually one for me and one for her). I've gotten a lot of kitchen gadgets that way! It's fun when we have viewing partners. I guess that's why I like this community so much.

I am hot natured and live in the deep south of Georgia. I also have night sweats/hot flashes thanks to my low thyroid. Does anyone find these sheets hot except for the coldest days?

Seriously, don't listen to the naysayers about these types of sheets. I have gone thru many a personal summer moment, but these sheets are awesome because they don't give you the ice-cold syndrome when you first crawl under the sheets on a cold winter's night, & #2, they are absorbant & don't leave you sweating uncomfortably when the evening ends up warmer than how it started out. My dh & I adore these types of sheets, and they are excellent to have on the bed year-round, not just during the coldest nights of winter. Enjoy!!

What a kind sister you have. I bought my first set of Malden Mills Polar Fleece Sheets about a month or so ago, but just put them on the bed this week. OMG, I LOVE them. They're so soft and cozy. I look foward to getting into bed with them on. For me, it feels perfect, having the bedroom a little cool, but then be warm and comfy in the bed. I still wear lighterweight pj's - nothing heavy, fleece, or flannel - that would be too much, IMO. I plan on getting more of these sheets though. So comfy. Enjoy yours!

I LOVE mine and will not use any other kind of sheets. I use mine year round as we have central AC and like it cool in the bedrooms. I have three sets and hope that Malden MIlls never stops making these. My little 7 year old granddaughter loves them also. I bought a set for her last Christmas and she won't let her mom put any other kind of sheets on her bed. You will LOVE them!!!

@Tigriss, I get night sweats too, but these sheets 'breathe' and absorb nicely, so they are comfortable all year-round, in my opinion. I will say that I don't use the pillowcases on these, only because when I do get night sweats, my biggest challenge is the pillow getting so miserably hot. It probably has to do with my using the MyPillow, which has that type of condensed foam that retains heat too efficiently. But I have a hard time finding a pillow that doesn't hurt my arthritic neck, so I have to deal with some challenges, whether I want to or not. Otherwise, these are so wonderfully soft & cozy without being too warm, & I don't hesistate to recommend them to other women dealing with night sweats. They are luxuriously soft, & lovely sheets! Oh--and you know how you have that dilemma where you don't want to fall asleep with too many covers on, because you *know* you will eventually get the night sweat & be absolutely miserable? One thing I really love about these sheets is, just one light-weight sheet over the top of me is usually enough to keep me insulated from the cold, yet not too warm. I tell ya, it is the best solution I have found for that dilemma.

Thanks, but I love tons of weighty covers, usually old, homemade quilts and now one Dennis Bassco faux fur quilt that is super wonderful and heavy. I know, crazy, but right now it is folded over the foot of my bed since we had two nights in the upper 30s/40s, with the rest in the upper 50s, so still too warm to even bother turning on the heat, at least for me. Some have already started up the fire places. I tend to have my ceiling fans running all year never knowing when I will go from freezing cold to super hot. I dress in layers around the house so I can take off or put on as needed, this includes socks and my robe. There is something about having hot feet that makes the rest of me hot, so house socks are usually the first to go.

Thanks for the advice on the fleece sheets, but they will be too warm, though my mother would love them.

I am interested in the My Pillow, but have tried two other chipped foam pillows and found them both far to full of fill to be used for anything but under my knees to prop my feet up or as back rest pillows. How thick is the standard fill pillow? I have one of those gel things on my pillow to keep me cooler and still have to flip it during the night if I wake is a sweat. It does help, but will probably be removed in the winter or kept on the bottom of the pillow instead of the top as it is now.

I don't and even use a flat sheet as a light blanket in the summer. I love my polarfleece sheets; like sleeping in a soft cotton ball.

@Tigriss, I wish the MyPillow didn't get so hot because of the foam, but it really does, & is a miserable experience for those of us who are sensitive to this type of thing. The directions say to use 100% cotton pillowcases *only*, which I do...but it still isn't enough, unfortunately. Believe me, I'm not being mean or hypercritical here, because I truly wish this product worked for me...but the foam just generates too much heat, and I wake up *wide awake* at 3 a.m., with a drenched head, due to the heat generated by the MyPillow. I hope they can find a remedy for this, because the arthritis in my neck really needs this type of pillow, which brings a different type of relief due to the support it gives. But when I wake up 100% at 3 a.m. due to night sweats, it isn't something I can wholeheartedly recommend to other women going through a similar challenge.

@Tigriss, I had to smile at your post, because of your comment about the weighty covers. I like that security feeling too, especially after some of the horror movies I've seen over the years, which is what made me laugh...even at my advanced age, I still don't feel 'safe' hanging my bare feet over the edge of the bed (Boogieman!), or letting my hand hang over the side of the bed. Isn't that silly?! But I saw this scary movie with I think Kim Novak many years ago, where these gremlin-like creatures came & dragged people away to a scary place to become 'one of them', if their feet or hands were hanging over the side of the bed. Here I am many decades later, old enough to know better, but still refusing to hang my bare feet or hands over the side of the bed. Ok, I'm embarrassed to admit that now...but I bet I get at least one heart on this, LOL!

I'm post-meno, and still have an occasional hot flash. I don't find these sheets to be an issue. I had to throw my regular cotton sheets off when I had a hot flash too.

I LOVE the Malden Mills fleece sheets. Better than any other brand I've purchased. So cozy. They also allow us to turn our thermostat down at night. I'm not the kind of person that can use them year round, however. So, I'm not sure you would like them in southern Georgia. However, if you normally use a quilt or blanket on your bed, you might enjoy them, and just use them without a quilt or blanket.

SerenityNowMyndi, Thanks for the feedback on the My Pillow. The other two I have were hot and too full of fill. THey are now body pillows, which can even be too hot. I'll keep looking for the perfect pillow.
I do have an underquilt/mattress pad by Cuddle Ewe, which is 100% wool with a 100% cotton cover. I"ll save up and buy their pillow. I got a free, smaller one with my purchase, which is fine when I'm sleeping on my back, but not when I'm on my side. It doesn't retain heat like you would think wool does. Actually it runs about the same as the fancy My PIllow, so it isn't really all that different in cost.
