Bidet Attachment

I just wanted to share that a week ago, I installed a bidet attachment to my toilet. I cannot believe that I've lived without this device. It cost $26.95 on Amazon Prime, is made by a company called "Astor," and it took 5 minutes to install. It straddles the back of the toilet bowl and taps into the fresh water supply going into the tank. It doesn't plug in or need batteries, as it works on water pressure. After you do your business, you simply turn a knob, and it squirts water all over your undercarriage, and you simply use your TP to dry yourself off. This will pay for itself in a year, will help the environment, and keep me squeaky clean! Does anyone else have one of these?

I've wanted one of these for years! I'm going to check it out on Amazon. (Does it bother you that it's cold water, and not warm? Does it wake you up in the morning?

Squeaky Clean LOL!!! I thought about one of those. I figure it would be a pain in the rear to keep clean or at least trying to clean between it & the regular seat or do you take off the one toilet seat?

@spent2much, I haven't found the water to be too cold, but it's been warmer here in Little Rock. Since I do tend to go like clockwork first thing in the morning (cue the "Too Much Information" Dancers), I'm sure I'll experience that morning wakeup call by January. Regardless, I couldn't recommend it enough.

You unscrew the toilet seat then thread the screws back through the toilet seat, then through the attachement which sits on the bowl. The nozzle that shoots the water actually descends when you turn the knob, so it doesn't get dirty when you're doing in your business. Once you turn it off, the nozzle goes back up into the unit. I haven't had any problems with cleaning it at all. The whole unit has been cleaner than my bowl.

Many people have Toto Washlets. This seat does more than spray water. It heats the water etc.

Now you have me thinking about one. As for it being cold water, they do have a hot and cold water one that feeds the hot water from your sink, if it is nearby. Mine isn't, but one of the reviews mentioned that the cold water really isn't cold since it is room temp from sitting in the bowl during the day. It is in my shopping cart. I fill it with things, then when I'm ready to buy, I review, edit and purchase.

@faeriemoon Well, I didn't want to use the proper medical terms to describe the various areas that this cleans on both men and women, so I thought 'undercarriage' was polite and to the point. I certainly didn't mean for it to be offensive.

I replaced the toilet in my bathroom last year with a higher profile Kohler that has no handle. You wave your hand over a button on the lid and it flushes!

The plumber who installed it wondered why I would buy a "gimmick". I figured that all of the public restrooms have a sensor flush and they work just fine! I love it!

I thought I was being fancy with no handle. Guess I should have waited for the bidet!

@PeterDM Not offensive at all; funny in fact. DH refers to the dogs' undercarriage when they come in from the rain. "Did you wipe their undercarriage?"

We have a Toto washlet. A few years ago when we were getting a new toilet, hubby wanted the additon of the washlet. I did not. What I really didn't want was the extra expense...they're pricey. Hubby won, and I'm so glad he did. I love this thing to the moon and back, Alice! And there's a joke about it in our family. When I'm out-of-town and away from home for awhile, I certainly miss my dogs and my husband. But I always say the thing I miss most of all is my Toto washlet. Ha!!!!!!!

I've had one for years, first a bidet seat made by Toto and when that one finally died we got a separate hand held unit. At least the Toto seat had a water heater, the hand held one doesn't. I have to say it's very nice for that time of the month.

@Kachina624. Oh my goodness, that is such a good idea! I'm surprised QVC doesn't sell these bidet attachments. It would be such a great companion gift for the poo-pourri. You couuld give it to your Priest, the ladies in your book club, the mailman, and your boss!

Well, I can't thank you all enough for giving me the best laugh I've had all weekend! I was chuckling by the time I got to undercarriage & by the time I got to purchasing poo porri as an add on, then purchasing the set for everyone I lay eyes on, I'm in hysterics!
