Shark vacuum

Hi - hoping someone can help me quickly - I have the new Shark and it was simple to put together and use - but now I can't empty the dust cup - other than hitting the emply button, should I be doing something else?

If it's like the previous one, the bottom drops when you hit the button. Maybe it's just a little stuck. I would hit the button and pull down a little on the bottom rim.

I'm also thinking it might be a little stuck. You can press the button and gently shake it to make the bottom open. I've had to do that before.

Ladies - success! And boy was I surprised by the amount of stuff in the dust cup. Reminded me of the Everybody Loves Raymond episode when Ray buys Debra the vacuum and she is mortified by the dirt it picked up.

Loving the Shark - it is replacing my Orek which has no attachments and my Monster Vac!

Great purchase.

My Shark Rocket has a top and a bottom release on the canister. After opening the bottom, if there is still stuff stuck, you open the top and everything falls out the bottom. Does that make any sense?

My Shark, that I just got this week, was amazing. It empties from the top though. I love to see what it gets up, I just feel like it's cleaner!
