In other words they are not wired but there is a box that picks up a radio signal from the button and rings. Today the bell kept ringing but there was no one there. What the heck?!?! Finally, I figured it out. Our next door neighbor's son was wiring her bell to a light because she is deaf and he put in the same code on her's as ours so every time he tested hers it also rang ours.
