So, on other "craft"/DIY threads, I have posted about this project I made. I found these fish napkin rings many years ago in a thrift store, still in their original packaging. I bought the two sets of four, for a total of eight. The last time I moved, I bought a table for four, so I really don't have the need for so many place settings, but I wanted to do something with them. I decided to make a scarf hanger, as the plastic is a smooth surface and won't snag the delicate fibers.

I went to the hardware store and bought one board. I had them cut it into the size I wanted, and then they made three additional cuts.

I covered the board with scrap fabric, added claw tooth hangers on the back, and spaced out the fish. I pre-drilled small holes into the tails, and then went back later with a larger diameter bit and made them a bit bigger. Then I nailed the fish to the board and tied ribbon at the top to cover up the nail holes. This project came in at under $10, and I'm able to see my favorites (or a week's worth of scarves) at a glance.

A few weeks ago I started this thread to see if anyone had any other ideas for their napkin rings. No one added any revolutionary ideas, so I went with my original idea and used another set of rings to make a belt rack.

These rings are more like the traditional napkin rings, so I changed it up a bit. This is another part of the board that I had cut down, and different scrap fabric. I ended up pre-drilling the holes three times, changing out the diameter of the bit each time. I also used short screws, as I wouldn't have enough room to fit a hammer in through the rings. I pre-drilled the wood as well, and varied the placement of the fish. Here is the finished product:

Of course, you have to make sure that the belts will fit though the diameter of the ring, and not all of my belts do. I was able to fill it up quickly.

Hey you just gave me a project idea.
I have 2 bird napkin rings that I got at my shower (25 years ago!) and as we are a family of 6 now , plus I don't use napkin rings. I am going to use them in a wreath! They really are pretty and I think the birds would work nicely in there! Maybe yellow flowers? With the blue bird napkin rings?
