Do you still prefer white appliances?

Every Design Show favors Stainless Steel appliances and even relay that in order to sell a home, you need to upgrade your appliances to SS. I chose white appliances when I built my house (I have white cabinets) because I'm not a big fan of SS appliances. I love the way it looks. Does anyone else like white appliances more than SS?

I have white and I prefer that to SS.

I have a small U shaped kitchen, and white looks perfect with my large white farmhouse sink.

I don't care for the look or upkeep of SS appliances...way too industral for me. If I had white cabinets, I'd have while appliances. My cabinets are cherry and my granite countertops are silver, green and black, so my appliances are all black. My newest appliance is my dishwasher. Do you know that the black version was $100 more than the SS model. I couldn't beleive that!

Yes, I certainly do. So hard to keep stainless steel free of smudges and other marks. Plus, unless you are buying the top of the line commercial grade appliances, you are not really getting stainless steel. I have gotten used to having a stainless steel kitchen sink and have a special polish I use to keep it looking shiny . . . until the water faucet drips onto it, and then I turn a "blind" eye to it.

We will be upgrading our kitchen in a few months, and I intend to purchase white appliances.

I actually never did, although I would definitely choose white if it were only between that, harvest gold, and avocado green!

I love black, so mine are black for the first time and I'm very happy.

I went from White, to Black, to White again. I grew tired of it and wanted a new look . Always saw fingerprints on SS and thought I would never go with it. Last Summer , we put in all new cabinets and upgraded appliances. We went with SS and it looks awesome. It has come a long way . My kitchen is gorgeous. I am over White appliances.

I like white. Stainless steel is a lot of work to keep looking good.

I love the look of white! It's clean and bright and oddly makes me feel more energized looking at them, and I think it's more "homey" and inviting. Black and stainless leave me feeling "cold".

I think it totally depends on the color of your decor in the kitchen. I had white before we redid our kitchen and it looked great. Now our kitchen it all shades of grays with red and black accents and a tiny bit of bright yellow. My white appliances stood out like a sore thumb. We switched to SS. Black would have looked good too.

White looks good in my mom's house.

White for me. I tried to keep an open mind when choosing new appliances and choose white again. Didn't like SS at all. Black would be my second choice.

No I have never preferred white......I had harvest gold first, then almond, and now black. If/when I have to replace I will try stainless probably. My cabinets are cherry so white would be too stark of a contrast. My sister has white cabinets with dark granite counter tops and SS appliances that are attractive. But that's why there are choices so that all can chose their favorite.

Thank you chickenbutt. (Love your name)! Since our kitchen, dining and living room are all open, I only have 3 kitchen walls. I have 3 doors in the kitchen part, tile back splash and cabinets so there is very little wall showing. I have my walls painted charcoal (almost black). Those walls really set it off since there isn't a lot of painted surface, it isn't dark.

Actually I prefer the almond but since they're no longer available, white would be my next choice. I don't like the cold industrial look of SS, and with all the dust here, black would be out of the question. I don't like black anyway.
