Mattess Pads?

I know this is not a big deal but I need a new one and there are thousands of them....I would like one that is soft on top as my mattress is hard. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks so much...I have looked here , overstock ,

Instead of a mattress pad, consider a memory foam topper with a cover. There is a nice selection at Overstock.com. You will love the soft, pressure point-relieving comfort of these toppers. Get one at least 2" deep.

Yes, but it might be too thick for the sheets the OP has. If she needs protection as well as comfort, that has to be considered, too.

Go to your local stores that carry mattress pads and touch and feel them. Nothing like buying things personally.

I always get mine at Homegoods/TJ Maxx/Marshalls. They have great prices and I am always able to find mattress pads that fit up to a 22"" mattress.

no I just need some comfort for a hard mattress....thanks so much gals I really appreciate it. I will check all options. My sheets are long but not big enough for a topper I don't think. They are 16 to 18 most of them(got them here when they had really nice sheets).

Teacups, I bought a really nice one in TJMaxx. It was made by Ralph Lauren, and is nicely quilted. It's has the normal stretch sides, but it's extra comfy because of the quilted top. Regular sheets work just fine. pinky

I absolutely love the memory foam topper I purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond. I have no problem with my (old) sheets fitting over it. It was pricey but considering I was ready to get rid of a new mattress, that was just too hard, it was a great solution. I also love that they honor coupons regardless of their expiration date.

I didn't even see this when I just posted another thread asking how often do you change & wash your mattress pad...do you do it with each bedding change? I answer to OP, I've gotten nice ones at Marshall's too. The memory foam ones, or pillow top types, seem like a nice idea for extra-firm mattresses you want to soften. I have a featherbed on top of mine though, so not sure I'd feel the memory foam underneath.

I got cushy mattress toppers at Costco a few years back, and they are wonderful. They probably still sell them. I have a really fat mattress, and the extra deep sheets work fine with the topper.

I do a memory foam topper, then do a mattress cover over that. I got the memory foam topper at Costco. Mattress cover was from HSN, the kind that is waterproof. You don't feel the waterproof stuff, and wouldnt even know it was waterproof unless you knew it. It feels just like any other cotton mattress cover I've ever had. I like having the waterproof in case the cat gets sick in bed or has some sort of accident. Of course, it will probably be me who spills something before the cat does anything, lol.

I got a very thick and cushy king sized mattress pad which got so heavy when wet that it broke my washer. Expensive mistake. So take washing into consideration.
