Dear Gardenman - I have read several of your posts and am always impressed with your depth of knowledge on many subjects. Living in an area that was threatened by Hurricane Sandy, I have convinced my husband that we need to own a generator. We were lucky here and only lost power for 24 hours which is nothing compared to what happened to so many people. I would like to be able to run a small upright freezer and although I have googled I am still unsure what to buy. I would like to be as prepared as possible for the next storm. Could you recommend a brand you like or the wattage you think I need? I appreciate any guidance you could give me.

I would be happy to hear from anyone who owns a generator that they think works well and could recommend to me. Thanks.
