Little Giant ladder

I purchased one of these ladders several years ago, and I'm really pleased with it. But I don't find it as easy to manipulate as the guy on TV. I have to literally lay it on the ground and start pulling like crazy to get it to adjust. Anybody have some suggestions as to how I can make it easier to adjust?

haha.....I bought one years ago for my friend...when it arrived him and I struggled trying to do all the things the man does....no luck...he took it home...and eventually gave it to his son or his son in law....I forget which one...hahaha....nice ladder if you can master it...good luck....

came back to say I am not laughing at you...I am laughing remembering him and I tackling that ladder...it brought back a good memory for me....

I bought a 17 foot from the infomercial about ten years ago. I also lay it on the ground to change it. It didn't turn out as handy as I would have liked. I thought the newer ones came with a video. I have no help for you, but can relate.

I bought one earlier in the year for DH, but as you say, it is difficult for me to move around, so I bought the Flip-M-Lite recently at Amazon made by Little giant, and it is a dream. It is light enough for me to carry from one room to another, tall enough to reach my highest shelf, and I feel very secure on it while painting or doing anything else that requires a ladder. I gave my DH one of these for Christmas once - he must like it ok as he brought it to Fl. when we moved here. Most of the guys in the neighborhood have borrowed it at one time or another. DH doesn't seem to have any difficulty using it - though I remember he watched a video online when he got it that described how to use it and all the different stuff it can do.

I've got one and, while it's very heavy to carry around, it does feel safer in use than the other ladders we've got. I like the way the base is wider than the upper parts. I've never had to lay it on the ground to change the configuration though, Once I figured out how to snap the side hooks in and out, it adjusts easily. I painted several rooms of our house this summer using it and, although I had a little trouble figuring out how to use the platform thingy that came with it, overall it was very useful. I liked being able to climb it from either side and being able to make it as tall as needed for what I was painting. It is very heavy though!

We have 2 Little Giant ladders - the 17' one their selling now and a shorter one that's not available anymore. I can't lift the big one, but I can roll it and set it up. The smaller one is great inside the house and I don't find it difficult to use. I like the stability and my DH uses both of them regularly.

A suggestion,if it's hard to slide up and down, try putting it to it's full length and use Johnson's Paste Wax on the inside leg, buffing it smooth. That will give it a slicker surface and might help it slide easier. Just keep in mind, that will also make it more slick when you are using the sides as a handhold, so be careful.
