Bath towel recommendations

I purchased new towels for guest bath recently for my Thanksgiving guests. They are Wamsutta brand from Bed, Bath & Beyond. I washed and dried them two times and my dryer filter was filled to brimming with lint or whatever the substance is that comes off them.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a brand of towel that you like? I would like to find some without so much lint.

I like Kohls brand name towels. Inexpensive and even better with the 30 percent coupon. I think the name is Sonoma.

Hotel brand from Macy's. They are luxuriously thick, wash well, and feel so soft.

I agree about the ones from Macy's. Also, I got some Isaac Mizrahi towels from the Q a couple of years ago that are very thick and fluffy. They lost some lint the first wash or two but have stayed lovely through many washings since then and are still like new.

Martex is usually reliable. I also like the towels from a catalog called The Company Store.

L.L. Bean, although I believe some posters recommend the Costco towels.

I bought some really nice towels from Costco and ended up replacing all our bath linens with Costco towels. In addition to the typical bath and hand towel sizes, they also have matching bath sheets. They're very reasonably priced yet feel substantial.

My favorite towels are Fieldcrest. Target has them and regularly puts them on sale. No shedding, they stay soft and fluffy, never scratchy. Last set I bought was about 5 years ago and they are still going strong.

I actually have some Northern Nights towels I bought
years ago and they're holding up very well.
I don't know if they even have towels now.

I found this usually only happens after the first two or three washings, then it's through linting.

I agree with rec's the ladies left below if you want to try a different brand.

Threshold brand from Target. Big bath towels, little linting, very absobent. Just had my brother and sister-in-law for a week and my brother (who is VERY picky) remarked on them. I like the white ones (with white stripes) so I can use bleach.

About a month ago, I read everything I could find on luxury towels. Time after time, the Hotel line from Macy's came in #1, or tied some with Pottery Barn towels. I ended up ordering the Hotel towels from Macy's since I got them on a good sale and with free shipping, and I was not disappointed one bit. They're the best towels I've ever owned.

Cotton towels will shed this lint the first few times they are washed. It's ok. I put the lint outside because the birds love to gather it up for their nests!

My favorite is Ralph Lauren that I get at Marshalls. They last forever!

BTW, about three years ago, I purchased J.C. Penney's quick dry bath towels. They were a lovely color, soft, dry quickly in the dryer, and very inexpensive. I was so disappointed with these towels. They didn't absorb well at all, and in no time, they were so thin, rough, and scratchy.

Believe it or not, I bought some wonderful towels in WalMart. The brand name is 1888 MILLS and they state that they are proudly made in the USA since 1888. They are thick and fluffy, 100% pima cotton. I have washed them twice and they shed very little and edges did not shrink unlike some towels.
