Peter~ Thank you, so VERY much! It looks lovely, I ordered 2, one for myself, and one for my daughter in law. I have ordered Waterford crystal one time before on this site-when it was still shopnbc. It was a beautiful bowl for my daughter in law for a wedding shower gift. She should love this sleigh- it will be a Christmas present for her this year. Thanks again- we love your presence here. You have such great taste and a great sense of style. I, for one, just love your posts. So informative and interesting. Bravo, Peter!

Thank you, Rose. That means so much to me, and I'm so glad you were able to pick them up. All of my glassware, both casual and formal is Waterford, but I've never purchased any decorative Waterford items. I'm looking forward to this! I hope you're having a great night!

I'm thinking small, white, glittered pine cones in it, and setting it on a bed of both white and silver cedar picks next to LR's white sequin and glittered trees on my white fireplace. Can you tell that I like white?

Oh yes, I can tell you love white. Peter, you are spot on, as I think white is the on trend holiday color to decorate with this year. Wherever I have gone shopping, I have seen white showcased more than any other color.

I am doing the same displays in many rooms of my house this year as last year. It is just too expensive to change everything year to year. But I am doing some new things, too! Mainly in my entryway, and staircase. I just finished the garlands on my staircase today. Guess what color is the predominate color? You guessed it-WHITE. With splashes on citrine green. Tomorrow morning I plan to start the floor area around the grandfather clock. I have collected some new items and am going for a snowy, wintery, let it snow theme. I hope I can pull it off. I never worried about the garland decor on the staircase-I pretty much knew it would work out. But this floor area? Time will tell. I will post photos when I get done with everything. I just live for themed holiday decor, and cannot get enough of it. Some may think it pathetic, but I just love it so much. Can't help myself…..

That citrine color mixed with the white will look stunning, Rose. I live for the holidays, too. I started with doing all white and silver Xmas decor a few years ago when I redecorated with a modern, sleek theme. Grey walls, black and white furniture, comfy white area rugs to soften it up, and steel modern art with white, electric fireplaces (both standing and large wall-mounted ones). It works for me, because I live in an urban, downtown apartment and work in the arts. I started building this 'White Christmas' theme, and really enjoyed adding to it every year. It started off very simple, and over the years it's become very lush, wintry and elegant. The trick is keeping a sense of warmth, but I've done well with keeping the rugs and furniture cozy. The fireplaces help, too. Back to you- I've always found holiday decorating my floor areas challenging. Do you have a large item to put on the floor by the clock to ground the decor in the area?

Peter~ your all white and silver decor with grey walls, black and white furniture, and fluffy white area rugs, modern art and electric wall mounted fireplaces sound divine! I can picture it all- so perfect. I love the very thought of it. Modern decor used to not interest me at all. But now it does, allthough I do not have any of it. I have a friend who is very on trend with home furnishing decor and she has opened my eyes to it. I just love to see what she does with her home. But I am stuck in a time warp. I am 61 years old and have raised my family in my home which is filled with traditional decor, mixed with some of my husband's antiques which he bought in Holland. If I had the funds, I think I would make over some areas of my home, and mix some of the antiques with new, modern decor. I love the play of the old and new. That probably is not going to happen, but I can still dream!

I have a small forest green campaigne tray table on an off white metal base that I am thinking of using to ground the decor around the grandfather clock. I don't know if all the items I have collected will fit the bill, but I will soon find out. I purchased a bag of something called Buffalo Snow, and I have bags of faux snow that I can possibly use. I have two really wild looking faux birch branch twiggy garlands to weave into everything, to keep it from looking too perfect. I have thought of even covering the table with a fabric of some sort, but I will have to see how it works out. Part of the decor I have gathered together are some interesting tall glass vases that I will fill with glittered white branches. Some white foxes and white owls will maybe be worked in. I am looking forward to starting it tomorrow morning. It will either be a bomb, or work out!

Rose, that sounds great with the clock in the background. The large vases and the tray table will definitely create a full, substantial look in that entire area. I've seen a couple of foxes around as well this season. They'll look so great with the owls and the branches. There is something very "Narnia" about that whole theme. It reminds me of the part of the book, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" when Lucy first goes through the wardrobe and enters the snowy world with the talking animals. The clock sort of symbolizes how the other world is of a different time. I'm not sure if that was your intent, but it will look very ethereal and special.

Will read about it tomorrow, and relive how wonderful that story is. You have given me an idea for a Christmas gift for my grand daughter whose name is Lucy. Oh, that's great! Your granddaughter will love that. I remember the cartoon from when I was a kid (I'm 39). I didn't care much for the live action films that they made of the Narnia series that have come out in the past decade or so, but I have fond memories of that cartoon from when I was a kid. At the end of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, several years have passed as the kids have been living in Narnia. They go back through the wardrobe to return to this world, and they discover that they are young again. Only minutes, not years have passed since their departure. Have a good sleep!
