It is made in the Czech Republic &amp; other European countries. This was done for economic reasons. At first I didn't believe it, but at least 12 - 15 shop owners (from Dublin, Galway, Killarney, Kilkenny, Cork, Blarney Woolen Mills &amp; Waterford town) told me that Waterford has only a demonstration factory which makes very few pieces. Fortunately, if an item is stamped with "made in Ireland", it is certified at Dublin Castle that it is made in Ireland. </P> <P>A few of the Waterford Master Cutters have started their own businesses: Heritage Crystal &amp; Emerald Crystal. The pieces are beautifully cut &amp; are much nicer than Waterford.
