I don't do anything ""turkey"" or ""pilgrim"" necessarily. All of the Fall decorations (which are numerous) serve us well through Thanksgiving. Love the colors and it feels very festive and holiday.

I decorate for Thanksgiving every year as I have my brothers family.

The buffet in my diningroom has a large mirror above it and I start with a Autumn wreath. Then I have a cute cage bird centerpiece (fall leaves etc.) and a pumpkin on each side. I bought the VPH birds with sweaters and awaiting the Vintage birds this week to add on each side of the centerpiece. I also have Autumn candle rings.

Front door has an Autumn wreath.

Family room has pumpkins leaf dishes ready for snacks and a wreath on front of my curio cabinet. Hubby puts Autumn garland on the beams in the ceiling.

Still working on my mud room entrance.

I usually start decorating for Xmas on the weekend before Thanksgiving. I use my Xmas dishes for T-day dinner as well. It's the official kick off of the Xmas season for me. Turkeys, pilgrims and horn of plenties just don't work with my sense of style. I have a lot of friends and family who have the same tradition. It really helps to get you in the holiday spirit, and your Xmas decorations get more exposure.

I don't decorate for Thanksgiving, as I really don't care for it or celebrate it. For me, it's all about Christmas! I got a good Christmas decorating idea from a friend the other day, so I now have made a start on that one decorating idea. Can't wait to get all my Christmas stuff out, which will be before Thanksgiving.

I have kept Halloween decorations in boxes for years except for two wooden high end jack o lantern pieces I was lucky to pick up quite a few years ago. I basically decorate for Fall/ Thanksgiving season. Lots of colorful garlands, sunflowers and lights. Love me lights. I have a large assortment of glass pumpkins and gourds. It's the one thing I look forward to, all the timers will be reset today to go with the time change so all my sconces and lights go on at the same time. Forgot to mention I have a huge twig cornucopia a friend made me many years ago, it's beautiful and that goes in the center filled with all my pumpkins, gourds , grapes and acorns.

I mostly do Fall decorating. For Halloween, that means my witches are mixed in with pumpkins and Fall items and then last night, away went the witches and out came the cornucopias and a few Jim Shore harvest pieces.

Pumpkins with no faces, turkeys, pilgrims, Indians, cornucopias and fall leaves. I like to decorate for all holidays, but don't go overboard, as I did years ago. I have quite a few of Jim Shore's pieces with holiday themes, that I bring out at the appropriate times. As I am getting older, and my kids are grown, I am finding that less is more. Yet, I still want to decorate for my grandchild. We still do decorate the most for Christmas.

I just cannot imagine someone not celebrating Thanksgiving nor caring for it! Of course we should be thankful for our blessings every day of the week, and especially on this day!

I tried to post a picture of my Thanksgiving additions to my pumpkin/harvest décor, but it wouldn't work, I bought a beautiful platter that says Give Thanks with fruit and pumpkins around the edge and I am displaying my set by VPH that spells out Thanks with the pilgrims and Indians. I also have a Jim Shore piece with a scene of a pilgrim man & woman inside a pumpkin. I love Thanksgiving and I think it is way overlooked!

I decorate for fall at the beginning of September through Thanksgiving. An autumn grapevine wreath with grapes and gords and leaves with a black crow perched inside, a swag on the fireplace mantle of autumn vines and berries, ceramic pinecone candle, a birds nest, a couple of beautiful Finnish glass birds(Italia? something like that), on the hearth is a bouquet of silk flowers in autumn colors, pumpkin tea pot, Valerie autumn angels. I change the kitchen windowsill to more autumn look - some mushroom plaques my son painted for me, colored glass bottles, a little turkey out of brush bristles, On the dining room kitchen cabinets I put a display of pumpkin creamer and sugar bowl, Harvest rolling pin, autumn angel. It's fun. Keep it all in a big plastic bin.

Oh, and of course the turkey dinner and sides!
