Yes indeed. One evening, we even went out to the Chesapeake to go see the sunset. We get beautiful ones here because of the water on each side of the peninsula (Delmarva) and the flat terrain. I never saw better ones, anywhere. Sometimes the sky looks like it's on fire. Sunrise this morning was good, too.

Do you take the time in the evening to just sit quietly and watch the sunset? We get spectacular sunsets here in SW Fl. I miss them when we go to Pa in the summer. Right now I am sitting in my Living room and the entire lake behind my house is bright pink - reflecting the sky above it. Then add the shadow of the palm trees against the darkening sky.God's beauty is so awesome. I pray I can live here forever, seeing this til my final day.

I love beautiful sunsets. And to think God' beauty doesn't cost us a penny. We can watch the sunset from wherever we are. I love to see it over the ocean and in the mountains most of all. What a lovely thread, happy housewife.

Believe it or not many of our best southwest Florida sunsets are enhanced by dust from the Sahara desert in the upper atmosphere. I love seeing the sun go down over the Gulf of Mexico. Still have yet to discern a green flash that gets a lot of mention here.

I just made a rare late afternoon trip into Albuquerque. Not wild about rush hour traffic but the cottonwoods along the Rio Grand were absolutely glorious rusty gold in the bright sunshine. As I went East toward the mountains, they turned a pinky mauve as they do most days at sunset. Took a very sick dog to an animal internal medicine specialist. She's in ICU tonight.

Since we moved here (I'm from the Poconos and DH is from So Jersey) we cannot get over the gorgeous sunsets here in FL. Sure we had some pretty ones there but I have so many photos of the sky here - it's simply amazing and yes, breathtaking. I thank God on a daily basis for my blessings and allowing us to live in this incredible area. I cannot imagine ever, ever leaving.

I will put our fabulous Oklahoma sunsets up against anyone's! Just tonight we stood outside the restaurant and watched the pinks and golds and rays of sun on rippling clouds. It was picture perfect! We have big skies in the west part of the state. They are always changing and there is something new every day. We can sit in our swing or deck and watch them, or just look out the window.

They are beautiful unless there's a tornado out there. Then not so much.

So much beauty on our planet. How did we get so lucky to be living here, instead of another not-so-nice planet? Think of all of the unappealing possibilities out there in the universe. It always prompts me to be very, very grateful for our beautiful earth, our beautiful planet.
